Spywareblaster's Update doesn't work anymore

    Sorry guys, I hope I am right here with my problem (being not really experienced):

    I am using Spywareblaster since many years. Never had a problem. Suddenly, some days (about 10 or 15) the manual updating showed this (and ever since then):

    "Error Downloading Updates
    There was an error downloading the database files. (Error Code: U001)
    Please make sure that Spywareblaster has access to the Internet, and that you have disabled any proxies other filtering programs."

    I also reinstalled Spywareblaster (the last time it was the newest version 5.0) but the problem is still the same.

    my specs:
    XP SP 3
    Firefox 23.0.1

    I really would be grateful if somebody could help me.

    hi Wallaby,
    thx for coming in. as I wrote, i am using version 5.0, but had the same problem with the version before,too.
    and: yes, I saw the maintenance message, but I had my problem many days before this message...

    Hi,

    Even now, you are still experiencing this issue?

    Could you please provide us the following information:

    1.) A list of all security/privacy software you have installed. (ex: anti-virus, other anti-malware/spyware, firewalls, security suites, cleaning tools, etc.)

    2.) What ISP you use to connect to the Internet (i.e. your Internet Service Provider).

    3.) The country you are located in. (Please feel free to PM me any of this info if you'd rather not post it publicly - this particular piece of info is equally as important as I believe this issue may only be affecting certain users in certain locations.)

    Hi Javacool,
    Yes, I have that issue since about 2 or 3 weeks (but never before).
    I am happy that you yourself came in for me. I was waiting for that, and I appreciate your offer to PM (private messaging?) to you, but there is said: "The private messaging system is currently unavailable."
    Could you be so kind to give me an email addresse, which I could send the necessary private data of me to?
    I hope that that is not too unusual, but as I said, I am not very experienced with forum staff, and...I am not an english native speaker, too...

    Just checked, updated fine here in the UK.
