I remember months ago reading that version 4.0 would be coming in the future with some really big changes. Any news on that?

We just published a beta version HitmanPro 3.7.7 build 205. This new version also fixes a BSOD that user Tarnak reported with beta build 204.
Complete release history, compared to build 203:

    • ADDED: Forensics-based universal detection of the Sinowal/Torpig Trojan.
    • IMPROVED: Compatibility with TeaTimer from Spybot S&D.
    • FIXED: Processing of ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad startup entries.
    • FIXED: Processing of SharedTaskScheduler startup entries.
    • UPDATED: Embedded white lists.

I use Hitman Pro..But.What good is it if it requires an internet connection to function/scan? Many infected computers I work on the trojan/malware block it's function for obvious reasons? Am I missing something here?

New build 205 working fine here :)

You can scan in EWS mode if internet connection is blocked, but it may not be necessary. If you use Force Breach it will terminate all non-necessary processes and there is a great chance it will terminate the malware process as well, it restored internet connection too when I used it.
(To use Force Breach: hold CTRL when starting the program and keep it held down until you allowed the UAC prompt, if applicable.)

    Hi,

I can confirm that with Windows 8.1 Pro Preview (32-bit) latest HitmanPro version worked.

    Regards,

Am I the only one on the planet that HMP never successfully updates for? Whenever there is a new version available it downloads, then closes and stays closed until I re-open it and the whole thing starts all over again. It's a paid version by the way.......Frustrating to say the least.

No ERP, just MBAM Pro with all real time protection disabled, just an update & flash scan on reboot.

Mine HitmanPro is OK on both PC and they are overloaded with security stuff (though no MBAM). I never had such an issue with HPRO.

Honestly IDK, maybe I would try it with MBAM uninstalled if there's no other security app on the PC.

    Hi DBone
I have MBAM Pro running without anything disabled, and HMP has always Updated without any problem.

So cannot understand how it is causing your problem? :doubt:

I also do not have any scheduled scan set at reboot or start-up.

PS: Have you checked your MBAM Quarantine folder if it is stopping HMP.

    Take Care

This has been happening to me for the last 5-7 versions, regardless of the other security software I have installed......Heck, sometimes I get bored before I know I'm going to re-image to my clean install state so I go with nothing but HMP and it still won't update. o_O IDK

Then it might be not software issue. Maybe the router or Internet provider?

Wow the number of engines keeps dropping so far it's only Kaspersky and Emisisoft...considering that Emisisoft also has Bitdefender integrated.
