I read somewhere about this distro. This is suppose to be the new Arch based distro for linux noobs. Something like Ubuntu or Mint. I will be happy to try it out on my usb :)

Any idea how long we might have to wait for a 1.0 release?

Don't know but you can use this release.
My favorite distro so far, and I didn't have any problems yet.

Which one did you try was it the 682 MB job or the 1188 MB monster, and was it by way of a USB drive? One more question, as compared to Mint how did you like it? I'm asking because all of my Linux Distros have been on a USB drive..:)

    Thanks..

It's interesting how this distro updates for a rolling distribution. It could be without an update for days/weeks while they review Arch Linux changes. Once I had to manually update the mirrors, because it won't find anything.

Otherwise, it's good and nothing crashed yet. Then again, it's all VirtualBox experience not everyday machine.

In my case it's been installed on a HD.

Is that a potential security issue if they are behind with security updates?

Could be, depends on whether you prefer stability or security. They try to make Arch Linux more stable by reviewing all the bleeding-edge changes, then releasing them later once approved.
