Thanks for the info, I'll check on that later. Last I tried was yesterday, it still had to scan more than once to produce all detections it could.

I sent an email to Baidu yesterday regarding the update issues and received a very prompt reply. It would seem they are trying to fix the issue but are finding it's not due to a single problem. My Baidu AV then updated automatically to the newest version 3.6.1.39623 and asked for a reboot which it hasn't done before. So let's see if they come up with anything.
installed baidu on my fresh new pc after that he updated itselff but then the crap started, chrome wasnt working anymore, it wont open uninstalled chrome, went to try IE it was freezing all the time i uninstalled Baidu and chrome went back to live and IE wasnt freezing anymore So definitly no Baidu for me.. just a piece of buggy and realy crappy software
Baidu Antivirus 3.6.1.39623 Beta did update the Avira data base at install. Nice. And it catches stuff in the Sandboxie (C:\Sandbox) folder, unlike 360 IS. The telling tale will be if it updates tomorrow. Hopefully it will. A lot of nice features about it. BTW, I used the beta installer from the Baidu Antivirus web site. Later...
It will not update tomorrow. the cloud is always up to date. just the offline signatures will update every wednesday. But they will work on daily updates.
please try the 3.6 beta version. here it works well, no problems with browsers. if u have still problems with browsers then maybe it is a bug, then u can contact bav@baidu.com and tell them your specific problem. the baidu engineer will help u asap.
While I no longer use Baidu, It's working fine for other posters here, and it works fine when I was using. There much be something on your computer causing a conflict.
why should it conflict now? i have the same setup as always and it has always worked but now ive got a new system not anymore cant believe its a conflict
if it still not work, even with the newest 3.6 beta, then it must be a bug. so i can just say it would be good if u can report this to bav@baidu.com. So baidu can fix this for future versions and for other people who have the same bug. Would be nice from you. i tried here the stable 3.4 version and the beta 3.6 version. with both i have no problems with the browsers.
Since getting some help from the Baidu software people as stated above and now using the newest version 3.6.1.39623 beta it's updating regularly, and running very smoothly without any conflicts, pop-ups or whatever. They also mention finding a problem with their English server which they have now sorted out, so maybe it's turned a corner. Let's see how it goes over the next few weeks but it's looking promising. Win 7 64 bit, 12 Gb ram
I don't get it. On the main page they say Baidu is compatible with other antivirus programs, but in FAQ they say: It is not recommended to run two antivirus software at the same time. Instead of better protection, there will always be capability error and low performance of PC as well. Therefore, it is recommended to uninstall other antivirus software before installing Baidu Antivirus. So which is it? I'd like to run it alongside Bitdefender Free if it is indeed compatible.
they work on daily updates. Yesterday i got an update (I was surprised because normally only on wednesday again). But the cloud is always up to date.
i stay by my point.. baidu is for me useless it dont protect my pc better then other antivirus programs and because its not compatible as you mention here i stay with avast!
In Windows 8 a problem exists in that Baidu Antivirus doesn't register with the Action Center as an antivirus nor spyware so you're stuck running Windows Defender alongside Baidu. That needs to be addressed by the Baidu developers. Baidu Antivirus is a good application now that the Avira database is being updated. In my opinion it's worth keeping a eye on its development to see how it progresses. It's really not too bad...now. Later...
In Windows 7 too. You can not close the service of the Windows Security Center in Win 8? Just a question, cause in Win 7 i don`t need the Windows Security Center, so i close the service. But sure, for all who use the Windows Security Center it would be good if you can report this at the Baidu Forum.
I really haven't looked to see if one could close the Action Center or Security Center service. Actually, I wouldn't want to close it. Too much valuable info is displayed there to discard it. I do know you can't disable Windows Defender in Services (all selections are greyed out), I tried. BTW, at present I'm using BitDefender Free...despite the Logs button issue. BD Free is still an excellent little antivirus. Regards, Bob
