So now you can turn PCAV into an Executable Whitelist Shield. :D
    Not bad!

Not exactly, it only prevents unknown apps from modifying other apps (aka parasitic file infectors and patchers). You can still drop any EXE anywhere on the disk and it will get written without problems.

    Someone better test it :)

I remember long time ago I was using FRISK F-Prot that had similar feature to protect certain area of the PC... it did not work out for me.

Virus infected all partition, including data...

Well, F-Prot has been quite rubbish for the last couple of years...

Is there a typical directory which is infected? Programs directory? Windows directory? :doubt:

Adding C: unfortunately causes boot problems.

It's usually the Windows folder System files, especially explorer.exe... But adding Program Files should be also smart considering iexplore.exe often gets abused as well...

After adding the Windows directory the computer doesn't start any more. The Program Files entry seems to be ok. :)

Thanks for letting me know, Rejzor. Wow, I have been slacking. Anyway, to answer your question, that is because the release only includes minor changes, like when some hotfixes are sent out. No worries though, users will see one appear with the next possible update.

    Anyone knows where Pbust is?

    Hello fblais,

pbust no longer works for Panda. He is with Malwarebytes now. His anti-exploit project was bought by Malwarebytes. On the forum you can find him as ZeroVulnLabs which was the name of his original company. The new product is Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit. HTH...

    Thanks.
I had noticed his disappearance from the Panda forum as well.
    That explains everything.

Just curious but does Panda Free allow for System restores in windows? Or does it prevent the system restore from executing.

    thanks
    Ice
