Do you save passwords in Chrome? Maybe you should reconsider

Opera, the real Opera, not the google faux Opera, has a master password protected password manager, and there isn't any way to see your passwords in it, either.

 

That's one of the reasons why I use Lastpass.

 

And I use Webroot's integrated Lastpass.

 

I never trust the browser's built-in password manager since the first time I knew about it, on any web browsers. Paranoid and old school, yes. But I'd rather have my passwords stored in a non-cloud dedicated password manager.

Justin is right because a guest or another person shouldn't be using the same browser profile you're using in your user account. A guest should be using an alternative account instead. This should be the practice.

Kember is right because in practice, some people are sharing their account with others (family members) thus they may end up using the same browser profile. A master password serves as an additional barrier from your non-technical sister/brother peeking at your saved passwords.

Ultimately, in my personal POV, if you do not want others to know your passwords, you shouldn't be saving them - least of all in a browser.

Known Limitations
Currently, OperaPassView cannot decrypt the passwords if they are encrypted by using the master password.

 

Thanks. I never even noticed the Master Password setting (maybe because I'm laxed when it comes to password management)

 

I wished it did work, I have one password I forgot.

Luckily i never save passwords in the my computer, even the crappy non sense accounts i have. In fact, i dont save passwords in any browser.
