    Hi all,

Running NOD on demand scanner, it seemed it stopped running or freezing at a certain point.

The screenshot you see has been on my desktop for 20 minutes now..

    rgds,

    Hi all,

It finally finished scanning, i quess the Beta is a bit slower than its predecessor ;)

So this topic can be seen as a false report from my point of view.

Mine just stopped scanning about halfway through checking my system partition. I had the 'scrolling' option ticked, it was whizzing through the files then everything just disappeared from the screen. Log showed it as 'scanning'.

You shouldn't see a significant difference at all. Did it become stuck on a particular file?

    Cheers :D

    Hi Folks!
I downloaded the new beta and gave it a try and had the same problem as nonmirecordo when I try to do a full scan of my HDs it would get so far into the scan and then shut down . When I looked at the scanning logs it showed as Scanning but it was not.
I tried uninstalling the program and reinstalling but still had the same problem.

Maybe I shouldn't be messing with Beta software but it's great fun trying out a new program .

Looks like some great new features , I hope it works out .

    Hi all,

On demand scanner is slower with Beta version, with my version 2 it took about 9 minutes to scan my C:\ drive, now with the Beta close to 18 minutes.

My on demand is a little slower. Not much. NOD scans more files by default now.

I can run an on demand scan, minimize the program, surf, and see a progress indicator at the bottom of the page.

Further to my post, above, I've found the file that causes the on-demand scan to just 'disappear''

It's a 3.61 MB file called HTMLREF.CHM which is deep inside a M$ Visual Studio folder in C:\Program Files.

If I can send this file to anyone for investigation, please let me know.

Please, send that file to support@nod32.com so that we can look into it and figure out why the problem occurs.

    Hello again .

unlike nonmirecordo my scanner quits at various points in the scan and just shuts down , no reason and no pattern o_O
Just thought you would like to know.

    Hi Blackspear.

My log lists everything that was scanned before it shut down (random points)and below the scanned , infected , cleaned bars it shows 0 . Below the status bar it shows scanning .
Other than not completing a full scan it seems to be working well.
IMON , AMON and DMON seem to be doing their jobs.
I don't imagine anything can get into my innards with those three working.
Curious about the full system scans though.

Should've replied earlier that I sent the file to Eset as Marcos requested.

On XP Pro, the beta hangs and I cannot complete a full scan. Tech support told me to uncheck everything except "files" and when I do that it will complete a full scan. When I recheck boot sectors, archives, etc. then the scanner hangs. It doesn't hang on the same file each time. They are random hangs early in the scanning process. The log shows that the scan is still running but it is actually hung.

I have no problems with completing a full scan with everything (except email) checked to scan on my W98SE box with the beta. This beta runs MUCH better on the W98SE box than it does on my XP box where it has multiple problems. I am still waiting to hear further from tech support (it's been 36 hours since I sent a report about being able to complete a scan if I uncheck everything except files). I don't know why the slowness in response from tech support. The initial response was very fast but now.....
