1. Download Crystal Security zipped file from download link.
2. Extract downloaded .zip file with some extraction tool (e.g. 7-zip or WinRAR)
3. Double-click (run) extracted executable file of Crystal Security (Crystal Security.exe)

Note

.NET Framework 4 is required.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question...I am new to this thread/program can someone please explain in a nutshell what this program is and is how good is it currently? HIPS,AV,AE etc?

Thank you for your interest

Crystal Security is anti-malware tool with real-time protection to block, detect and remove malware from computer.
There is Whitelist/Blacklist - user is able to set files into these groups.
Checkup feature helps to detect malware and suspicious files on your computer.

Program uses 2 public services to identify file safety.
First service called [VT] is by VirusTotal and second service called [CFI] is Comodo File Intelligence (by Comodo Group).

With latest RC version is possible to upload files manually to VirusTotal.
If Upload unknown setting enabled then Unknown files will be uploaded automatically to VirusTotal and result for file will be re-checked.

Additionally is possible to use lookup services: NictaTech, CAMAS and Valkyrie.

Instructions:

1. Download translation: -http://crystalsecurity.eu/translation/Crystal%20Security%20%5bEN%5d.zip
2. Extract downloaded zip file with WinRAR, 7-zip etc...
3. Translate from English into other language
4. Finally send completed translation to: info@crystalsecurity.eu

Translator username will be noted in changelog.

By default pdf files should be removed from the files types to analyze. It might good be consider other extensions, some of them mentioned here: http://antivirus.about.com/od/securitytips/a/fileextview.htm

An option to export the local whitelist

Store in the whitelist in a new column the result (latest) from VT

An option to automatically purge on system restart the non-existent elements in the local whitelist

An option via right click to re scan/upload in VT a file in the whitelist, or see the latest result.

Create your own (crystal security) whitelist integrated in the program. I don't know if you malware engine has already something like this.

Possibility to change the window size, to facilitate to see the full path of the apps.

The uploads window should show the historic of files uploaded, 3 status, queued/in progress/done

[BUG] When a file is unknown by VT using the hash, it's the file actually uploaded to scan it for the first time? I don't think so becase I'm getting files with unknown ratting because they have never been uploaded. I think I'm having he same files uploaded automatically and having the same popups (or checked the hash) again and again because there is no result yet from VT. The files are uploaded but because the result is taking more than usual the file is scanned again and I get another popup, this happens until the result is gotten.

I think you should start a new thread once the final version is release, explaining all the features and how the program works, it has change a lot since you made the first release

PDF is actually removed by default. Try to delete Crystal Security folder under AppData folder and start Crystal Security again.

PS. Before you try it you may backup your Whitelist & Blacklist files.

Okay, currently you can see full path of analyzed file if you hover over file name.

This problem I think that happens with big files (15-20MB), it's like Crystal security is no able to wait enough to upload the file a get the information, so it shows the popup (automatically classification popup) over and over. I have fix this problem by manually uploading the files using VT website, now the popup does not appear anymore.
