Baidu never bought Kingsoft. They formed a strategic cooperation back in January to combat Qihoo. Although so far no money has been exchanged, there was a report a few days ago that Baidu did buy (or will buy) stock in the company, so far unconfirmed. An outright buy is not likely as another company, Tencent (which makes Tencent QQ, a mobile AM solution) already has about a 16% stake in Kingsoft.

Although you are correct about Baidu being a much larger company, its focus is and has always been on Ad revenue from its browser and search. Qihoo was primarily an AV firm that has only in the past 2 years or so branched out to invade Baidu's turf.

ps- I wish Qihoo's market cap was 16 billion (I own shares)!!! Actually basis the ADR shares trading on the NASDAQ in New York the market cap is a touch below 8 billion USD, but the day is yet young in the States and QIHU is up nicely again today,

Why not run both? I have both running together with WSA excluded from Qihoo 360 and system boot times are fantastic as well as low impact on system resources. In fact, I have this combo running with PrivateFirewall and I have never had any combination of security apps that got along together so well. I can't even tell they are there. WSA as a complementary can be run with almost any other AV but there are some exceptions. This particular setup is mind blowing! Give it a shot if possible.

Well now after just switching to MBAM PRO+WinPatrol I miss 360 IS and avast too  :doubt:

But the only issue with 360 IS is the amount of questions proactive defense generates sometimes when installing new software and occasionally random bugs.

So,right now I am going without AV until Avast v9 beta comes out so I can make my choice. :)

I will have to try Outpost security suite next I guess LOL.

You can turn stop the prompts by unchecking items under Proactive Defense. I've disabled everything except for file protection.

TI- I may have misinterpreted, but if you are using MB as the sole AV product, as excellent as it is, it does have an important failing. As they cull their definition database, malware about 2 years old and older won't be detected.

Really? No-one is ever going to open a 2-year-old email with an infected attachment, from a time when said AV wasn't there and didn't detect the threat? That's just one example. Malwarebytes is great at what it does, but one must recognize its limitations.

Ok, so I'm giving this program another try (Even with the late startup issues)

and Have been in contact with their support center (Email) and have had some answer's regarding issues I have had.

First of all, the Proactive protection (HIPS) is in fact network dependent from what they told me. Meaning no network connection, no hips.

The late startup issue is known and is being investigated further.

To sum it up though, even with those "Problems" I am happy with this program.

as i have said before its really a good program not to heavy and seems to have pretty good detection and it runs pretty smoothly. but for me its way to chatty if we had a way to customize the hips and not have it tell me that its actually turned off this would be a EXCELLENT free program to recc for those who want a free av

The hips is another thing that needs looked at for its inconsistency.
Some people say the Hips is too chatty, while for me the Hips is on a perfect level.

Not as Chatty as Comodos HIPS
Just about right where I would want it. Honestly for me it alerts more on the level of a BB (Threatfire Lvl 5)

It is still my favorite security program. I honestly don't have one gripe with it.

I think between this and SecureAPlus, they are the 2 most innovative programs to come out in a long time.:thumb:

I'm getting curious as to why some (like myself) have no issues with the HIPS while some do. I wonder if perhaps we are using Q a bit differently.

For those who are having issues with a known safe process, when an alert occurs are you first checking the box "Do Not Remind Me Again" then clicking the Allow (or Allow All) button? And if this is done do issues still exist?

One thing I do wish they would change, is when you have a HIPS alert that it would stay on the screen until a action is chosen instead of having a countdown. Other then that I gotta give this program two thumbs up.

It does give a 30 second countdown and at least the Default is Blocked.

I know, just sometimes 30sec is not enough time depending on how much information is given in the popup.

It would be better still if there was no countdown (or at the least to disable it) - for times you are not in front of your computer and 360 wants to prompt you about something. It would be much better if the prompt was still there for you to decide if you want to block or allow the action when you return to your computer rather than it being automatically blocked after 30 seconds.

Sure, although usually you're not installing things or running applications when you're away from your computer. And if something is running, it's probably malicious, hence the automatic blocking.

You are talking about 1 in 10000+ cases...besides,for how much time does a 2 year old mail stay on the page 1 of your inbox for the user to see it :D

I think even cruelsister mentioned that sometimes Qihu won't select Block as default.

And even though you may not be installing anything while you're away, a malicious program could have a delay of any number of minutes between first running and placing startup entries and such, so that it's harder to attribute them to the right culprit.

A final note: someone mentioned earlier that Online Armor scores 100% on the Comodo Leak Test while Comodo Internet Security doesn't ace the test. It should be needless to say, but correctly configured Comodo gets the 100% too.

I am often am, e.g. when I running driver update software which automatically installs the driver updates it find, or what about installing a large program which takes time to install - I'm not always going to be in front of my computer while the install completes.
"Probably" is not good enough for me - I want to be able to decide as the whether or not something is blocked.

Does this AV automatically take care of viruses like Bitdefender?

I'm not sure I'd know what to do if I had to make the decisions.
