Good deal. The only way to know is to try it for yourself.

I asked that a while ago. They said it will either be free or a small price. They're not sure yet.

Version 4 is far off yet. Also, 3.5 is so stable and secure (aside from the exploit that they are working on to fix) that there's no need to upgrade to 4.0 if you're on Win XP/7/8.

Version 3.5 is currently still in beta, right? Have the developers mentioned anything about an official release, yet?:thumb:

Usually version upgrades are to add new features, or functionality. I've heard no news of whats coming in V4.0. Hopefully Blackhole Exploit Kit will be address in V4.

Yes, I believe we will see one more beta release before the final.

Hopefully it will be adressed in 3.5 or 3.6. I doubt they will jump onto 4.0 with that big of a loophole ready to penetrate 3.5.

Barb already announced Version 3.5 will not fix the Blackhole Exploit Kit vulnerability. Look at post 2813.

What about non-English operating systems? Is it working now?

You still will not be able to designate private folders if they contain non English characters such as Cyrillic, etc.. Did you have other problems with AG?

I had some problems in the past with AG, but I will try again and see how it goes with my machine.

I will do some testing with the Portuguese alphabet in the next build release. It will be easy for me since I speak Spanish, and they use some of the same non English letters. I already tested with Russian Cyrillic, and AG could not make folders private that were named with Cyrillic Characters. The next build may be out as soon as tomorrow. We will have to wait, and see.

I guess no beta release for today. I'm sure their working hard to release an outstanding product! I spoke with Barb by email on Thursday, and she informed me they were able to fix some Appguard crashes and a BSOD I reported that was caused by certain symbols in the folder name when trying to add that folder as a private folder with read / write protection. It was mostly with % sign combined with other symbols like $ etc.. There's a very slim chance any users would be affected by this. Maybe someone working with money accounts if they had %, and $ in the folder name. It's doubtful they would use both symbols to name a folder.

Hopefully Appguard will support Unicode soon for those users that have letters in their alphabet other than English letters. I think that might be addressed in version 4. I can't wait to see what they have been working on for this next beta! I think we will see a very stable, and dependable version in the final.

Well, I have to roll my Laptop back to test some software. I will keep an eye on this thread for the next beta release. That is if they have another beta release. I believe they will.

    Hi everyone,

Over the past week I've been reading up on AppGuard, but I still have one residual question (I'm pretty sure I already know the answer, but "pretty sure" isn't sure): is AppGuard *fully* compatible with Microsoft's EMET? I'm using EMET right now and would prefer to keep it so long as it's safe to do so, but I definitely want to install AppGuard and expect to keep it as my primary security program, so if EMET conflicts with/weakens AppGuard, I'll just delete the former.

    Thanks for any advice,

    David

I used EMET 3.5 with Appguard for about a month. I did not have any conflicts between the two. I quit using EMET because it was causing issues with some software I use to type in multiple languages.

is there a way to add execptions for certain files regardless of drive or folder. for example when installing games via steam or standalone they will often try to run direct x setup or similar, and they usually try to run it from their own folder or subfolder and this normally causes them not to run throwing up an appguard error.

i would like to know if its possible to exclude the file in question without needing to manually add an exception for indivudual files.
