I'm using WSA for antivirus protection only.
I've got MBAM realtime for malware/spyware etc.

I've seen, can't remember which one, but it's not the point - if you want to have a feel about test results - take a look at bitdefender tests.......

Av-Comparatives, Av-Test, and VirusBulletin have tested Qihoo. Check them out.

It must be somewhere in AV-Comparatives.

my clients love wsa and in a way i hate it lol. i have yet to be called by any of them to come out due to a virus and ive only had one other real issue which im working on now. otherwise it has been awesome for me. i had a few clients try it out and after the trial they called saying they did not want anything else installed but wsa. its a bit sensitive though as far as either picking up minor things that are not virus' or seeing fp's. most average people though i find are fine with that if it means being protected.

Just because its using BD engine it doesnt mean it will do as well as BD itself. There is also other factors auch as FP and performance.

Thanks. I see it now. I was hoping to continue using it for more than 5 days.

If you are going to post that info, then I must follow up with the most important test result (at least to me) and that is performance.

Qihoo is towards the bottom of the list. I pretty much have decided I will only use Nod32, F-Secure or Avast... I really like all three.

I tried Qihoo and really liked it, but I could tell it was there on all the PC's I tried it on.

read again - I haven't said it will do as well as BD, I said if you want to feel, i.e. have aproximation.

sorry but this is BS, previously I had avast installed and my system is way faster after I installed Qihoo - it boots faster, programs response, everything is way way faster. Probably it was optimized from April.

That must surely be an anomaly, or perhaps they've made big improvements in the English version, because Qihoo is incredibly light and most people on this forum who have tried it will agree.
Also, if you look at the latest AV-Test results, Qihoo is 6th in terms of performance, faster than most other products, including the three you mentioned.

Another fact is shown on the website. The Freeware can“t stick with premium products like Kaspersky & Norton!

OK after some days of sending samples to Qihoo I didnt get replies earlier but I did get detections being fired up quickly in a day or two from cloud QVM or BD engine.

From yesterday, they have been replying to each and every sample submission:D

Also today detections was added immediately after a short period of sending samples from QVM Cloud and most of the malware was detection by sig "HEUR/Malware.QVM10" which is their Cloud QVM2.Its awesome :thumb:

Again QVM2 is just great!

Also I clarified and confirmed something else.Trojan.Generic detection is NOT BD engine detection, its the 360 Cloud engine picking samples up.QVM2 is also semi-cloud based in some way by default.

I just installed 360 again to see if anything has changed. It still has 4 processes running with all engines on.That's kind of a lot of memory for a tray icon & what is the last process for(ZhuDongFangYu.exe)?I'll try it for a few days, but i don't care for the memory usage. It is lighter than other free ones i tried.Avast is lighter.I'm using Avast & 360 together. As i was typing this the tray process went down to 9,528k,but the others stayed the same.My computer should run fine with it(Vista 32-bit,2gig Ram).I'll see how it goes.

Fenson- ZhuDongFangYu is a self-protection module. It actively prevents Q360 from being shut down by malware (it was formerly called krnl360svc). This is a very good thing.

As far as RAM use is concerned, you shouldn't obsess over this (compare Qihoo's use to the browser you have open!). As long as a product isn't hogging the CPU or calling up the drive constantly (neither of which Q does) the memory stats you provided aren't an issue.

RAM is not issue - it uses it quite minimally, but your PC configuration sucks to be honest - 2GB RAM... it costs pennies to upgrade it at least to 4 GB.

As MF has just touched on it, let me say that with your configuration running both Avast and Q simultaneously really isn't the best idea. It can be shown pretty readily that the addition of Avast will not lead to any statistically significant improvement in protection over Qihoo alone; and with only 2gig of RAM the downside of increased system impact is very real.

Thank you for everyone's responses.Unfortunately 2GB Ram is the most my system can have.I just don't know which AV i want to keep & that is why i'm trying others. My Webroot(i have it turned off while i test others) subscription runs out in a couple of months,so i wanted to find another free one to use.I liked Kingsoft, but i don't know what is going on with them.Baidu last i heard still has an update problem.I heard good things about 360,but don't know if it can replace Avast Free, that is why i run them together. There is no slowdown in my system either.

360 outperformed Avast in all major tests. You don't need Avast:

I would install this on family computers but scared this will just end up like kingsoft av. I see the protection is good.

Brocke- Qihoo is an 8 billion dollar company and is still rapidly growing. Kingsoft can't be compared to it.

Isn't Kingsoft now owned by Baidu, which is even larger than Qihoo?

Edit: Not positive about Baidu owning Kingsoft, but in terms of market cap

    qihoo - 16.4 bil
    Baidu - 47.3 bil
