A good reason to take tests with a grain of salt. AV Test has BitDefender being better at protection than 360. Even though 360 uses their engine plus 2 others. Ouch

Well here is something funny I came across..

downloaded a piece of malware with 360 turned off and right clicked and scanned it and it detected but when I click repair,It actually did repair it!! :D

But when I went back to the folder,I had the a shortcut with the malware file name,If I double click on the shortcut it opens up 360 IS o_O

So deleting the file and placing a shortcut to their suite instead of the malware file is what they call repair function meh

I am planning a short whirl to geswall (havent used this software since 2008 ) next to Qihoo 360 free and see if it works well.

You talking to me? If you are then I have to say I disables the windows firewall because it is not windows 7 firewall I am testing but the security app. Also there is router firewall which I did not disable. Heck even with windows firewall off and no security apps, just router firewall, it scores good on clt. lmao.

It seems download protection allows "eicar found safe" when you disable file protection.

OK reporting some sort of a interesting issue here..

Win7 32bit...when you boot into desktop you can clearly open up the UI and it seems like real time doesnt scan files for a while, once I get the action center icon in taskbar and if you check it immediately when the icon appears in taskbar it reports that Qihoo (not atispyware part, talking only about virus protection) isnt scanning and then in a couple of seconds its real time scanning triggers and action center becomes calm again. This has been happening since I am using this suite but I am noticing this since today morning.

Anyone else can confirm this guys?

    btw,happy friendship day guys ;)

I can confirm that once booted it takes about 3-5 min for 360 to start scanning files.

I am not getting that result. It is active and scanning as soon as my desktop comes up. Not just the anti-spyware component either. I have to say I do not get the numerous pop ups many of you guys seem to have an issue with. In fact it's been that way from day one. I've tested the heck out of 360 and with Proactive Defense checked, and while it has caught and quarantined (with alerts for everything) every piece of malware I've unleashed, I do not otherwise get pop ups over the course of my at home work day. It's very light and sits quietly most of the time. That's one of the many things that drew me to using 360. Has anyone a theory why it seems so chirpy for some and quiet as a church mouse for others? Is it something pertaining to individual setups?

For right now i`ve dumped it and put avast! Back on. I`d be more than happy to return as soon as these issues are fixed (maybe in a update or two). Considering some users.are reporting problems and others are not the futurd of this program to me is worrisome. I do still ike it though.

its to inconsistent for me imo as i and a few other have now said it just doesnt work the same for everyone. even today now i downloaded a password protected .rar file and i got a pop up that said it was password protected from 360 on the machine i was working on so i decided to try to download it to another machine with 360 and no pop up for the password this time. why this is its behavior i have no idea but for me the last time i had this many pop ups was when i have a av with hips and it was set to ultra sensitive type settings. its really crazy there are so many

Well this is kind of odd...I booted twice today and both the times real time was scanning actively

Wait...I think this is kind of a trail and error thingy because it just seems to be random.

Thanks yaslaw. I emailed 'support' and despite what the license page says, they have advised me that I can use 360 IS for "not-for-profit organization and small businesses".

    Well, this is weird.
Been using this for couple of days on my old netbook.
Been great, no problems at all until the last couple of hours.

It has now started blocking random websites citing phishing: Facebook, Linkedin and Sky News to name a few big nameso_O
Not sure why this has suddenly started doing this but think my time with this software is over, Bitdefender = yes, Bit-undependable = yes, goodbye!

Pity for as a 3 engines AV it's really light.

It's probably a temporary bug. I'm sure they'll fix it in the next update. In the meantime you can disable the Web filtering extension.

360 only uses the definitions of Bitdefender. Bitdefender has it's own heuristics which 360 does not use. This explains the difference in protection.

After staying up till 3:00 am CST and rolling back to Windows 8, I am really surprised about this application and it's a keeper.

I've been using this program for five days, but I started to noticed that its kept blocked that I wanted to check out my facebook. I kept clicked "ignore and continue" and even I go Google, its think it's phishing site too. :thumbd:

It makes no sense to me. I also even tried to turned off URL filtering, but it still does. It's so annoying.

Moved on, given a 181 day trial of WSA which Raymond's tests showed to be ridiculously light on resources.
Gonna have a look at this one.

Posters on here usually find WSA to be exceptionally light, however while I find that to be the case for 360, I found WSA to cause a major system impact. Of course your experience will vary on a different computer.

Although I never detected any significant slowdown issues with WSA on any system on which it was installed, I also didn't find that it was especially good at keeping a computer malware free (actually it was quite horrid).
