I never experienced slow startup of VS in none of its version, it always starts after 10-15 sec maximum after Windows starts, and I have a cheap computer.

I noticed that in last version, VS gives some spikes, Processor is running at 20- 30% when it's set for fast pcs, in prev versions VS eats only 10-11% set at maximum in tweaks.

Doesn't make any difference Dan. Seems others are having an improvement. Don't know what is so different here.

Here are my averages on the latest build this morning:

Capture04-08-2013-9.56.39 AM.jpg Set to default with "Self Protect VS from being killed" & "Notify me when a new version of VoodooShield is released" both checked also this is on my main Laptop and I notice it took sometime to connect to the net.

Capture04-08-2013-9.59.03 AM.jpg First Reboot Set to default with "Self Protect VS from being killed" & "Notify me when a new version of VoodooShield is released" still both checked.

Capture04-08-2013-10.00.30 AM.jpg Second Reboot with "Notify me when a new version of VoodooShield is released" unchecked.

So what I can see with "Notify me when a new version of VoodooShield is released" is checked it must look for an update before seeing the Icon in the system tray and on the desktop thus the long time on the First Boot up this morning and the issue of taking more time to connect to the net. I'm going to Reboot now to see what the result is with "Notify me when a new version of VoodooShield is released" unchecked.

Capture04-08-2013-10.23.00 AM.jpg Ok after another Reboot so it looks very good!

Also notice I'm using SSD's. If you hover over the pictures you can see the time stamps.

No CPU spikes here with a clean reinstall of this version https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=2262977&postcount=2173 on Win 7 x64.
I did a clean Reinstall, Uninstalled Reboot and installed I had to of course re-enter my Credentials.

This is in Smart Mode / Off, correct? See, VS is doing a lot of things in this mode, like protecting the user space, watching for web apps, etc. so it is using a lot of cpu cycles.

What is the CPU utilization in Training and AlwaysON

I just found another way to drop it even lower! I just have to tweak it a little for optimal performance, and then it should be really cool.

Thank you for checking. I know that you mentioned that you have an AMD cpu... is there anyone that has an AMD cpu who is experiencing the same issue? What cpu do you have?

So just to confirm, VS is starting fast for you now, even with all of the options checked? Thank you for testing this for us!

That is funny that you mentioned that... A lot of the people involved with the project did not like the name VoodooShield. So I asked them to help me come up with a different name, and after 3 months, we none of us could.

So I told them "If you guys do not come up with a name, I am going to call it MollyShield"!!!!

So that is funny that you say that!

No I still have "Notify me when a new version of VoodooShield is released" unchecked. It could be looking for an update on start up which is slowing it down? How many times a day does it check for updates or only on Boot Up?

Hmmm, very odd, that should do really well. Let's see if anyone is having an issue with AMD and VS. Other than that, I will still keep this issue in mind! Thank you!

VS checks for an update whenever it is launched. I am sure there is something we can do, now that we know where the 2 issues are, I just have to think about it a little. Are you wireless or wired? Do you have a fast and reliable internet connection?
