Fabian -any plans by Emsisoft incorporating Bitdefender's Safepay free into EAM paid now that Safepay has been official released?

No such plans. In general I am not a big fan of "banking modes" or "special banking guards". Personally I want my browser to always be protected and not only if specific websites are visited or if I start my browser through a special shortcut or put my security software into a special mode or anything like that. The entire idea of interrupting my normal browsing session to buy something just doesn't click with me and I find it to be just terribly inconvenient.

I concur. The absence of these "features" is one of EAM's strong points and distinguishes it favourably from the rest of the competition.

I tried the new beta but every time I ran a context menu scan I would get windows explorer not responding, only for a split second mind. I hope you fix it for the final, I really like EAM.

Fabian - You need to check out EAM web filter protection. Appears it is letting searchscopes through. I found my familiar Google ones in my registry.

    Also how about whitelisting AdwCleaner?

I am a user of EAM and I disagree with whitelisting AdwCleaner. It does not have a digital signature. If you want to whitelist it on your computer, it can be easily whitelisted in EAM's GUI. I don't see a need to whitelist it for all users.

You have a point. It appears EAM behavior blocker only handles two states; trusted or untrusted.

A number of products are a bit more flexible. NIS 2013 for example will handle multiple states such as; trusted(signed), good(EAM 90+ users), unproven, poor, and bad along with stability, prevalence, and age, to adjust the behavior of the behavior blocker:D accordingly.

This VoodoShield discussion got me thinking.

Fabian - a lot of us are using EMET 4; many at max protection settings. Also with deep hooking set on. I see Emsisoft Behavior Blocker is injecting a2hooks32.dll into IE x86. Do you have any recommendations pertaining to EMET 4 browser settings as they relate to EAM 8 to avoid any possible conflicts?

Yes, I want to be protected no matter where I conduct financial transactions from. It does not only have to be a banking website. :thumb: Online Armor does have Banking Mode though lol You don't have to use it though.

I am using EMET4 as well. And so far I haven't had any issues. However, we had one report that said that the certificate pinning combined with EAM 8.1 causes his system to dead lock. Unfortunately I haven't been able to reproduce that issue yet. But if it happens on your system, you may want to turn certificate pinning off until we figured out what exactly is going wrong.

Nah, nothing like that. I am just busy as we got the misses from the upcoming AV-C test yesterday and I am going through all of them to see why we missed them :).

Wonder what is his browser? Cert pinning was designed for IE with "work arounds" for other browsers. I use IE9 and have zip problems with EAM and cert. pinning.

There is plentifull discussion on EMET's cert pinning and third party browsers in the EMET thread; see post #134.
