People, people! C'mon, where's the moderation here? Humor is not for this place.

The updates are at most 1GB, normally it's around 500MB. Quit trolling guys!

Now, speaking seriously, I would say it's probably not bigger than 100MB.

And again, more seriously. I noticed some time ago that Comodo's SecureDNS blocked Qihu's download website. So I sent an inquiry and that's what they replied:

    What the heck?

Hmmm... do they also whitelist a site that may actually have malware on it, because it's whitelisted by other vendors? :)

I'll quote ya on their Forum. I think it'll be nice to open a thread about it. I'll keep y'all posted.

A quick one about update size: after installing with their latest installer, which brought today a 3-day-old database, it downloaded 1.5MB in 5 minutes in the first update.

hmm i get a 403 when i try to visit that site. but eset, and avast had no issues with it. jaspion no offense they were just kidding... sometimes you need some humor to break things up.. i saw no issues with it. after a while of using it im on the fence. it seems to miss some things i dont think it should and at the same time be super sensitive at times. especially during program installation i have to answer a pop up for nearly every file while i do that. kind of annoying imo especially when a program like firefox should be known good. otherwise a really nice program. if it can be made not so sensitive about certain things and stop with all the pop ups (which i will look at later in the settings) i could recc it it to a basic user as a good free program.

The error in the page is because it's only for downloading the files. Like the current installer: -http://down.360safe.com/360is/360is_x64_4.1.0.4031G.exe-

I know they were joking, I was too :D

Z- what programs are you installing that receive popups? About the only thing I've noticed when installing a legit application is a notice when an autostart entry is created (which is a good thing).

And many thanks to those discussing the update size. It reminded me I hadn't cleaned Quarantine for a while and it was up to 1.4 GB. Yikes!!

And Jaspion- I suppose there are Blacklists that feel that something termed an AV coming from China just HAS to be a rogue.

Yes, I also have to remember to clean the quarantine every once in a while.

I don't know, it seems very strange that they block it just because others block it. If you're in the business of verifying the safety of websites, then do that ~ Snipped as per TOS ~

So..I downloaded the 17MB installer via CNET and oh my god...Installed this and rebooted and now off to update.

I noticed that now win7 action center is not seeing 360 IS as a antispyware program,I think this is probably because my bitdenfer DB is outdated or is currently being downloaded.Internet is unfotunately damn slow.

So is there a different installer with all the updates + the program on their page or something.

btw,I downloaded the installer via their site and installed it and it says 2013-07-24 is latest DB.Anyone else can confirm this? :)

The next program update from Q will activate the spyware notification within windows security centre, for the time being just tell windows to ignore it.

My current database is the 27/07/2013.

Note that the first update after installing should update everything to current, I only download direct from 360Safe.com and it was about 180Mb.

Also,if anyone from Qihoo can address this issue I will be glad to come back to 360 IS.

Maybe if you can mention what system you have and other installed security software ( firewall? ) are installed then problem solving might be able to take place, without details there is not much anyone can contributeo_O

Best to start with a fresh download from 360Safe.com, uninstall what you have and start clean, if you have a 3rd party firewall installed put it in learning mode.

No third party firewall apart from win FW..all defaults...I have tried twice reinstalls with no luck :doubt:

Do you have an entry in the windows firewall for Q ( it'll be all chinese text ) does it have full in-out access ?

Z- Just tried both aomei backup and R-drive. Both installed without a peep, except for Comodo alerts (I'm using the Q+CF pair). Additionally Comodo Cloud did not like one of the drivers Aomei attempted to install; classed it as malware.

But if you are getting these popups constantly, which should not happen, could it be you have some sort of pre-existing system infection that has compromised install routines that Q is alerting you to?

And Q is updating fine here. Maybe your ISP has blacklisted Chinese AV's.

Yes I checked that long ago before and win FW was allowing it..same situation even on my VM and main machine :(

OK UPDATE: after some chat with my ISP,they say dont block any such servers from china.More ever I still dont understand if something is blocking Qihoo then the update must fail rather showing the program is up to date :p

I am still very eager to get this thing working correctly and get this sorted..I really like this program :)

I dont know if the issue is my country.Still if any Qihoo employee can assist me I will appreciate it

Uninstalling is a nightmare, even after uninstalling and removing all traces I could find in the Registry Kaspersky wanted me to remove it when I installed Kaspersky so I just skipped the uninstall option since I already uninstalled...didn't do anything anyway...o_O

I beg to differ, I've found that it uninstalls very clean when compared to other AV's, there was nothing left at all in system files and just a few entries in the registry which can be found by searching for 360Safe and Softwin ( the latter being the sole leftover Bitdefender entry ):)

OK Try 3: Downloaded the full installer from the 360safe.com and now installing in VM if successful I may plan to get this on my host though considering the fact I am doing a lot of installing and uninstalling of AV's in this month :D
