    hello

from the developper of Online armor

Online Armor in general doesn't support Unicode. It's not specific to a certain feature. This isn't likely to change either, as it is caused by the fact that large portions of Online Armor are written in a programming language that simply doesn't support Unicode. Unless we port it to a newer version, which will break pretty much everything and is a huge undertaking which almost equals a complete rewrite, this won't change either.

also for more than one year nothing new

I hope Online Armor will get better in the near future.

He is referring to this thread:
    http://support.emsisoft.com/topic/11870-when-will-the-next-version-of-online-armor-be-released/

Needless to say I fail to see how you can make "Online Armor will be discontinued" out of it, but well. Maybe a language issue.

Which is just blatantly false. The last stable setup was released in October. The last stable program update without a new setup release in December. There have been several beta updates within 2013 as well.

Nobody said it will be released at the same time as EAM 8.0. I specifically stated around the same time. Which at least where I live means +- 1 or 2 months.

Perhaps you could change your user ID to something less pretentious?

    Thanks for clarifying, Fabian! :D

I don't see the point in starting this thread on Wilders "welcome", when you have already started one on the Official Emsisoft Forum, where support staff/devs has already given you an answer. The answers will be no different here I figure :)

I'm a beta tester for Online Armor, and I just tested a new build that was released yesterday. It's a closed / private test group so I can't give out any details.

Also when you say, "Hello, from the developer of Online Armor" it looks like you are claiming to work for Emsisoft. It could just be a language barrier on your part if English is not your native language. On any account; I thought you should know how others may perceive your message.

We can all get frustrated, and impatient at times. It's how a person handles this that defines their character. Hang in there! I'm sure we will see something good released in good time.

Although as an old pro on these matters i don't personally use Online Armor but that in no way discounts it's superb security protection. I'm fact the several many times that i have either trialed the pro version or used the free offer, for my needs it's been every bit on par with the likes of now defunct but great Kerio FW. It is sharp as a razor on picking up on both inbound and outbound details and interrupting service to show the user a passage is being attempted.

It's very useful but I'm the picky type and never cared for the GUI which Emsisoft carried over with it from it's former developer. But that's just me and no real reason to discount it just for that alone. And it's HIPS was pretty good too for a firewall.

I guess that it would have been more clear in any western language if written like this:

    hello

from the developper of Online armor:

"Online Armor in general doesn't support Unicode..."

And choosing "online_armor" as nickname doesn't help either, it's true.

Very well said. I refuse to believe that OA will not evolve too. Currently the best firewall for me :)
