I'd like to try this AV out once I hear more good reviews about it.

Qihoo hopes that use of the AV will lead to the use of their browser which would lead to the use of their other products from which they derive ad revenue. So look at Q360 as a Loss Leader.

This business model certainly seems to be working. Last August the Market Capitalization (what the company is worth) was ~1.8 billion USD. Today it topped out at a bit over 6 billion. Very nice growth (For comparison the market cap of Symantec is about 16 billion, that of Fortinet is 3 billion).

And this growth also would explain why Baidu tries to slander them at every opportunity. Remember that both companies are fishing in the same Advertising pond. While Qihoo has experienced dramatic growth this past year, the market cap of Baidu decreased from around 38 billion to 32 billion, and is still tanking.

Any competitive slander aside, you have to admit they took Internet Explorer's icon and just made it green :thumbd:

Does anyone know when or if Anti-Keylogging protection will be implemented for Windows 8 64-bit users?

Well yes. I am using it with comodo firewall (proactive protection and optimized) with 360 IS and have trafficlight addons on firefox. Also mcafee site advsior and many others are working fine too. I also have tested it with zonealarm free firewall and works fine.

Well Qihoo has been around since 2005, the AV has over 450 million users and a stack of awards and the latest real world tests from AV comparatives place it about on par with avast in detections ( pretty good review imo:) )

    No problems:)

No sure about the keylogging protection on Win8:doubt: , see what happens with the next release, hopefully the sandbox feature from the Chinese version gets included also.

Yeah, I've seen the Anti-Keylogger protection in action, and it did quite well.

That's why I'm hoping they'll introduce it soon to Windows 8 users.

There's a sandboxing feature in the Chinese version?

That would be nice if we got it too...Keeping my fingers crossed :D

Translated from there Chinese website http://www.microsofttranslator.com/bv.aspx?from=&to=en&a=http://sd.360.cn/

I've also emailed Qihoo's support about the Keylogging for Win8 and Sandbox availability in the English/international version and will update you when I hear something back from them.

It would be a great addition & real plus +, if Qihu 360 English users, had a users forum on the English http://www.360safe.com web site .

It would seems to me it would benefit everyone .

    Regards,
    BobH.

Why QVM engine is by default disabled for RealTime protection in settings?

You could always try emailing them and ask.

So if I understand it correctly it would be beneficial to have the QVM engine enabled in realtime as this feature is what will detect unknown local threats with heuristics ( such as plugging in infected usb's ) in real time rather than being discovered at a later date by an on demand scan.

No, the heuristic engine is already integrated into the 360 Cloud engine, so there's no need to enable it in real time. It would only make sense to enable it if you're offline.

This may not be the greatest AV ever. Check out AV Comparatives "performance test" for May 2013. It has a much higher hit on performance than others.

According to the test, it significantly affects the speed of installing applications and copying files. I tried copying files from one location to another with or without the AV, and didn't see any patterns.
Av test gave the Chinese version a 4.5 in performance, better than most other suites (and I assume with the Avira engine enabled).

Personally I haven't noticed any performance degradation, actually quite the opposite.

Other than concentrating on one singular part of a test you may need to look at the positive results 360 gained in all other spectrums as it excelled in many areas, any slight hit on performance tests could be due to higher detection rates = better protection:)

    Hi:

Does anyone know if 360 internet security compatible with maxthon cloud browser? Does it offer browser protection for it and what browsers does 360 offer protection?

Because I just tried and tested 360 with maxthon and it did not block or show any warning in the browser or download.

It detected some of the malwares in the desktop when I tried to open it. SO not browser warning.

I even tried eicar tests and 360 did not selected them in the browser or download??

    o_O :(
