Just joined, so thought I'd introduce myself

I'm eddie, normally sitting over at TSG most of the time. I'm a malware removal expert there, as well at Geeks2Go and Bleeping Computer. Finally thought about looking here as well

I'm in England, mainly the North of England.

Into pc's (obviously) but also into gaming. I'm a member of a clan for Battlefield 3 for the pc, and been a member there since the days of BF2.

Most Fridays I'm not online soing pc work, as I sit in a server from 6pm till 2am, yelling and having a great deal of fun

I am in Australia -- east coast city of Newcastle.
Fabulous beaches (if you ignore the line up of ships waiting to load coal for export), excellent wineries about 30 minutes away.
Summer temperatues 15-35/40 C. Winter 8-20/23 C (perfect climate).

I have been "using" PC for both business and pleasure (my first PC was an Amstrad word processor max 256KB, that gives my age away!)

Am using the PC and VBA programming to retrain damaged brain cells after throat-and-tongue cancer treatment.
Have been writing serious Excel addins since Win98. I play around with VBScript and am surprised how easy it is (until it doesn't work). Would like to learn more and maybe try C++ suitable for Windows and then there is Linux !!

I have a brother living in north-east USA, he hates the winters and when he is shoveling out 2 metres of snow -- I let him know that it is 25C here in OZ. (T-shirts, shorts and bare feet)

Hi Everyone

I am from a small town called Antrim in New Hampshire. The town is so small that it's almost like living w/one big family. LOL
I was born in Nashua, NH another small town but not as friendly. I am an older gentleman (will be 60 this Oct 12!). Anyways, I've not be around computers much. I had one for about a year in 1998 but got rid of it after becoming agitated over not making any money but actually losing money while trying to get eBay to work for me. eBay is a tough world to make money in---well for me anyway. So after 15 years of being w/o a computer, (earlier this year, April) I decided to get one through a promotion with my telephone provider (TDS Telecom) whereby I could get a really nice laptop (HP 635) which sells for around 4-5 hundred for only 1 hundred if I was willing to enter into a two year service contract with them as my ISP. Went with it and here I am! Now I am a wanna be techie like my user name here: "wannabetechie". LOL After I first set it up it took me almost a half hour to send an email. Yikes! And I still struggle. Now I am trying to figure out how to open a zip file. Just can't get it to open. If you are reading this and can help me with this please send me a msg w/instructions.
