    What is new;

    Notes from me;

-Numeric key encryption problem has gone. KeystrokeEncryption is working fine with numeric pad now.
-There were 56 sonar, Now we have got 57.
-Antikernelmodekeylogger is working on 64 bit systems now. This is revolution for SS. v1to8 didint support Antikernelmodekeylogger on x64.
-Some GUI changes; Drag and drop is supporting transparency now. When you drag SS, it will transparent.
-Version numbering changed. All SS product has same numbering system now.Sory for that, i was tried Fw 8.5 Private beta but final version still v2.5.

Does this firewall also sport a user configurable HIPS like Outpost where you can add selective registry/file locations?

I'm at all not familiar with SS but read many favorable reviews by users/customers.

    Thanks

Yes, SpyShelter Firewall v2.5 is the actual version, not v8.5, which is SpyShelter Premium. SHA1 hash of new fwsetup.exe is 44B56E03181467079A3412BD459D7379F508F623.

Sure wish the free version supported 64-bit systems...

    I second that.

  9. Well free version has a nice HIPS module, when you auto allow Microsoft and set deny all for explorer, office, chromium, pdf, flash dll, etc, it can be made a nice three zone HIPS (allow OS, deny all user programs, ask others)

EDIT: after trying out the premium, I added the free version as a re-placement for UAC (elevate Admin silently). Since I have a deny elevate to unsigned programs, this is a nice 3 zone policy control.

The perfect HIPS for a minimalist, adding just what need, see my crazy rule set

What's the difference between "Allow All", "Allow only Microsoft" and "Allow All automatically"?

  12. As far as I understood (documentation not clear to me --http://www.spyshelter.com/download/manual.pdf)

    - Auto Allow high security
Allows programs which are internally whitelisted (selected signed and unsigned), ask for others

    - Auto Allow Microsoft
Allows all binaries signed by Ms, ask for others

    - Auto Allow medium security
I guess all non-siged binaries of the internal whitelist plus all signed applications, ask for others

    - Ask user
    allways asks user

When you set to AUTO block suspicious behaviour, all asks in the above lists become a block when you have selected an auto-allow. Don't what conflicting "ask user" and "auto block suspicious" will do together.

Seems that the experimental driver for kernel mode keylogger breaks SandBoxie....:(

I liked the software, but is this company trustworthy? I try to use only softwares from very known vendors, like Eset, Kaspersky, Microsoft, Google, specially security softwares.

I´m planning to buy a new PC soon (I´m still on Win Xp), and this sure looks like a cool tool.

Can someone perhaps post a screenshot of all "monitored actions"? TIA. ;)

Thanks guest, that was fast. :D

I´m currently trying to figure out what my new setup will be on Win 8, and this seems to be the only tool that offers total control together with Privatefirewall.

I´ve always been a fan of classical HIPS, I´m still using System Safety Monitor + Neoava Guard. :)

Would Spyshelter Premium be overkill if I installed it with my current setup (in the signature)?

  20. Yes, Outpost covers most, just add a free encryption solution for your browser or reversely drop Outpost and use SpyShelter FW

    thnx for your reply,
could you give me an example? Should I look for a Chrome-encryption-addon? What would you recommend?

Thanks, but why would you prefer Zemana free over a premium license (I own one) of Spyshelter (don't own one with the firewall)

WoW, Neoava Guard ! A blast from the past ;) I was on 98SE @ the time so couldn't try it, but i did use SSM, which was Very good, mostly !

My motto is, if it's good & works, why change :thumb:
