I downloaded the installer for 2014, but can't see if its that version. Is the setting changed in Bitdefender AV +?

Today, I uninstalled McAfee Internet Security (30 Day Trial on my Refurbished Laptop that I just purchased). Of course, I also ran the McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool just to give me some level of confidence that McAfee is uninstalled.

Then I installed the Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2014 (30 Day Trial).

So far Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2014 'seems' to be working OK.

I will give this a try and see if it really is lighter. BD 2013 was too heavy for me.

I decided to go ahead and purchase a 3 PC 2 Year License for Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2013 even though I have not done much of a Trial. I should be able to use this license for Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2014.

My bad on this quote. It doesn't appear to be an EMET 4.0 problem at all with BitDefender IS but instead with SRP. If I disable SRP BitDefender IS runs fine. I'll have to look into this further.

BTW, I'm having having trouble with BitDefender and Sandboxie. Running Firefox in Sandboxie with BitDefender causes Firefox to crash. I'll also have to look into this further.

    Later...

    Good Morning tomdy2k:
I have BD 2014 installed and also purchased a license for it. The wallet feature I really like a lot. Just take a few minutes to work with it and I feel you will find this feature to be a plus on the software.:)

No. It's very light on both the system and browsing.

I believe the "wallet" is like lastpass - encrypted cloud storage of sensitive data which can also be automatically entered into browser forms. For instance when you go to your online banking site it would enter the login credentials so you don't have to use the keyboard. Of course I imagine you have to login to the wallet, but you could use the virtual keyboard for that. I use lastpass, but it can't be incorporated into the SafePay browser, so I will probably use the Wallet for a small number of sites when I load BD later this year (waiting for my current AV license to expire).

Windows 8 64 bit Standard & Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2014.

    AMD Dual-CoreA6-4400M, 4GB DDR3-1333, 500GB SATA 5400RPM

I noticed that every time that I play a streaming video, Bitdefender displays a message that it has switched to Gaming Mode. What typically causes Bitdefender to switch to Gaming Mode?

    Thanks in Advance.

    Hello all,

I bought 3 licences for BDAV Plus, but I can't uninstall BD Win 8 security. Uninstall is stuck at 50%. There is no any uninstall tool by Bitdefender (BD W8 Security).

Their forum has this problem escalated, and problem is reported ages ago. Any help is highly appreciated. I am restoring my system partition now, due this bloody flaw by BD.

    Thanks,

    Tech

Thanks guys, but no luck here. Tried those "cleaners" and safe mode.
    Back to Kaspersky...

And yes there are tons of left overs after BD W8 security. It's pretty hard to understand why there isn't any removal tool for BD W8 Sec. :ouch:

Bitdefender has always been hiding RAM in system processes. Don't be fooled by its own processes. The only reliable assessment can be made checking your PC total ram usage before and after installing Bitdefender.
