    Hi guys,

I'm afraid I didn't see anywhere, that students get disocunt when buying nod32.
Is this right or am I getting blind?

    Regards,
    Manu

In Australia this is correct, upon producing a valid student card...

    Cheers :D

    Okay... Australia.
    Now, how about Germany?

Sure, I'll send student card. I know this procedure from many other software-companies.

    Hey now...
I got an answer, which says, that students get 30% discount for first license, when they send a copy/screenshot of their student card.

    This is great news.

So - now I've KAV 4.5. I'm not quite sure, if I should change to Nod.
KAV has best engine and on my system I don't recognize KAV.

I'm gonna wait, till Nod BETA is Final and trial it.

...or dou you have some arguments? :D

I just too sent email inquiry about the student discount. Wonder how fast I can get a reply so I can proceed with the purchase. How fast Eset sales people can reply emails normally?

Why not trial it now? You have nothing to lose. Also, I'm not sure about NOD32 being a beta, but it sure has a lot of functionality and is very effective, even for a "high risk" user like myself :)

hey, why not extend this to other countries as well? maybe students will switch over to NOD just 'coz its cheap (and legal) and then find out its so D*MN fast !!!

Hi Wanchan, usually they are pretty quick, in the mean time if you want to get started straight away you can download the “Trial Version” of Nod32, though if you do choose to proceed with a purchase you will have to uninstall this version and reinstall the “commercial version”.

Hi Quexx88, the quote you are referring to is from back in July of this year ;) and as such Nod32 had a version that was still in Beta…

Pricing is left in the hands of each country’s individual Distributor and Resellers.

    Hope this helps…

    Cheers :D

What about countries where ESET/NOD32 doesn't have an office? say singapore/India/China... Is there any international office? what about differences from Local pricing? I think eScan from Microworld is an Indian AV...all their communications are from www.msspl.co.in and end with Bombay contact addresses.... Out here, on this forum, so many ppl. use it as a backup scanner to KAV. (*wink* ;) to ESET)
    ~snip~ TOS Violation.

err... couldya PM me about it? I never mentioned any race or creed... by "Indian" (which I believe may have offended you) I meant students from India.

I stand corrected. Nod32 DOES have partners in India (and presumably they offer discounted rates to students). But still, what of the "Other Countries"... can students from these get discounts?

I refer you back to my previous post:
Pricing is left in the hands of each country’s individual Distributor and Resellers.

Thus if you live in a country that does not mention "Student Discounts" then you would have to enquire with that particular Distributor or Reseller to see if they take this into consideration...

    Hope this helps…

    Cheers :D

I meant countries without listed distributors or ESET offices. Sorry for the confusion.

Then the person would be left with purchasing from the USA or nearest Country with a Distributor and it is at their discretion to set pricing...

    Hope this helps...

You have two partners (agents) in India. I wrote to both of them to check the price. One of them never bothered to reply  The other one (in Bangalore) quoted me a price of around USD 56 !!

Does not make any sense to purchase the commercial version from these guys when you can download it for USD 39 :D

    Cheers

I believe that was Prudente Solutions. Earlier the price was lesser, but then they raised it. They claim that the price change was made by Eset and not by themselves. They also mentioned that the lower price was an introductory offer, and reasons like how other companies increase price. They also do not offer any student licenses.

But, as Blackspear has clearly said, the prices are managed by the distributor/reseller, so its probably just that the company wanted to make some extra profit for themselves.
