The FPs are low but I have had them. As a matter of fact it is the ONLY detection I have ever gotten from MSE. I like free but I don't trust it.

Despite the dumbing down of KIS 2014, I actually find it to be more work to navigate the new UI than in previous years. It is more attractive than it has been in a while. It is probably a great UI for touch screens, but I don't have any of those. I may give the final a test when it is released but there are other products I am beta testing that look more promising.

I won't be using Kaspersky anymore either, it's a good AV, but with the advanced settings I was able to tweak it into something better, for my situation.
Just because an AV program has a lot of advanced settings, doesn't mean it isn't install and forget, it works perfectly fine out of the box. No need to change anything unless you specifically want something different or like to tweak. All these user-friendly AV's without any settings/very little settings aimed at the average Joe forget that the average Joe will probably never even open the GUI, let alone open or fiddle with the settings.

sure and look what's happening to avira of late.. even stephan himself commented. kaspersky are simply shooting themselves in the foot with this...an av company should be about security FIRST everything else second.

Well if they do setup the "defaults" in a way that it didn't need to be tweaked to get the best out of protection and system performance then that slogan fits very well.

But that shouldn't stop them from keeping the settings and options inside for all the users that would like to change and tweak it their own way, IMO.

So far impressed... simple and clear GUI, smooth operations. Only this annoying long standing bug of all KAV/KIS 2013/2014 products, breaking "protected view" and "previewer" of MS. Office 2013 package under WIN832bit.

He probably got them from the Kaspersky FTP.

    Download Kaspersky Antivirus 2014
    -ftp://ftp2.kasperskyftp.com/consumer-products/Current_Versions/KAV_Win_2014/kav14.0.0.4651en-us_TR_20130624.exe-
    Download Kaspersky Internet Security 2014
    -ftp://ftp2.kasperskyftp.com/consumer-products/Current_Versions/KIS_Win_2014/kis14.0.0.4651en-us_TR_20130624.exe-

They accepted my bought key without problems. (Did an uninstall of 2013 and checked the save license information.)

This is the technical release and not the final though. Correct?

The 2014 range officially launches in August, so there might be another RC yet before the final GM. I wouldn't regard those builds as 'final'.

In general in Kaspersky TR is always/becomes final, and admit commercial licenses ...

Although Patch A will be coming soon ...

    Regards.

From past experience of testing KL products, the technical release does become the final version. It has been signed off as the release. Now it's marketing's job to get all the other stuff done to promote and sell the product. Of course, we may see patch A and then there is Maintenance Pack 1 to come.

This format is nothing new; it's basically the same pattern year in, year out.

Then no reason to post this information in here other than show-up... it is not intended to be public as you seem to suggest ;)

Kaspersky told me that the 2014 range will be launched, worldwide, across all regions, at the same time (unlike 2013 which was released in some regions 6 months earlier than others!).

If this is true, it may release in Sep. instead of July? I asked for new information about Vietnamese localization progress from support team but they said it not started yet

o_O I don't see BrollyLSSJ links been removed. Unless you mean that the download link you have its NOT coming directly from Kaspersky servers then, once again, that link is not intended to be public! So, what's the point of posting screenshot of a non public version apart from showing off? ;)

According to the UK distributor, 2014 launch is mid-August.
