    I installed HMP Alert on Win8 64 bit and the program went into the x(86) folder and the driver into system32. Is there a problem then?

    Nope that's exactly what I meant. On 64-bit Windows the following files are dropped:

    64-bit Driver -> System32\drivers\hmpalert.sys
    64-bit DLL -> System32\hmpalert.dll
    32-bit DLL -> SysWOW64\hmpalert.dll
    32-bit Application/Service -> Program Files (x86)\hmpalert.exe

    All very small.

    I also noticed strange WinRAR archiver behavior (I am using WinRAR with SHA1 46eb83356cbbd7500cd2e6728112205f43ca69d6): many of my archives (.zip, .7z, .rar) do not open and extract, without any error messages. After uninstallation of HitmanPro.Alert the problem disappeared.

    May be there is some conflict betwen HitmanPro.Alert "virtual machine emulation" and VM built in WinRAR archiver?

    Some information about WinRAR VM:

    We've just tested WinRAR 4.20 on Win7x64 and Win7x86 and extracted couple of 7z and rars. No problems. The VM trick in HitmanPro cannot cause the issue. Maybe its the new Alert architecture which is likely causing what you are seeing. So far cannot reproduce, maybe its a combination with some other tool? I appreciate your efforts so far :thumb:

    You should be able to go to the MBAE LOG tab, select the block event and choose "Exclude". That should take care of the problem.

    Thank you for helping out :thumb:. We will do some work as well on our end to let Alert work along side MBAE by default.

    I tried HMPA quite awhile ago, and got some strange result. Would I be correct in saying that it is not good to use in a multi-booting configuration, that I have with my snapshots?

    HitmanPro.Alert v2 has been rewritten from scratch (compared to v1). I think you might like the changes we've made.

    This is a Kickstart question?

    Hi Erik,

    I emailed you this already in my feedback for the private beta, but the public beta has already been released and you're probably quite busy with fixing bugs etc so I'll post my request here as well to be sure it reaches you:
    The alert screen from the Alert Test and the screenshot posted earlier show no possibility to view the details like in version 1. I find it handy to be able to see the details, so I would like to see it returned. If this was removed to avoid confusing the average Joe, perhaps the Details button can be renamed to Technical Details(Advanced) or like with the EWS scan from HMP a new setting in the advanced options to enable it again.

    I am not sure, but I don't ever envisage the need to use Kickstart for my needs.

    I think the same.
    If HitmanPro.Alert v2 does not show technical details, it is almost useless for me, I will not use it.

    Hi Erik,
    Maybe you can add a possibility to reset the Numbers of alerts shown.(see screenshot)
    And to see the details would be fine too.(posted by BoerenkoolMetWorst)
    Thanks!

    And I have another question.
    When I set the Notification at never, how do I get into the program again to change the settings?

    Don't worry. The report is still in there, we just need to find time and a way to display it nicely to the end user.

    Thank you for clarification.

    Can you add "show legit modifications" or something like that option too?
    To have possibility to see all modifications made by security and other software which HitmanPro.Alert 1.0 Beta 3 showed as fp, and other modifications.
    It is very useful for study and research purpuses.

    I was wondering the same thing.

    Also, the single exe portable apps on my pc are working normally. I have not tried them all though.

  24. Just go the HitmanPro Alert directory and execute the exe :D

  25. No magic, just go the hitmanpro alert folder and execute the program, it will display settings screen :D
