I'm sure it is, I was just wondering why you made this decision since the Chinese version seems to include the Avira engine as well.

Does the current english version have the sandbox isolation like the chinese version?

Wow. Awesome. I think that would be a great addition. Also what about the "trojan firewall"?

Just because of the experience on Chinese version, we knew it could work pretty good with 360 Engines + BitDefender engine.

Please can you tell us about the cloud engines. Is there any automated process like KingSoft cloud for file identification ? A sandbox would be very great indeed to launch unknown apps into it and then send it to cloud for identification.
So please do tell us what does the cloud really do.

I look forward to the information they can give concerning 360. :)

  16. Okay gave it a spin, disabled Bitdefender engine and URL filtering (only interested in HIPS part and download protection).

Noticed that 360sd.exe was started in HKCU (RUN), changed that to HKLM (RUN), because I use hardened GPO for basic user/medium level integrity processes and don't want it to be disabled by for instance an unsafe browser process like Firefox (that is why Chrome, IE and Opera Next run their tabs in Low IL, to prevent simple AV disable). Maybe offical 360 GUY (William GYW) can tell what protection is still active when 360sdrun is not executed.

Also noted that Tray application said everything is well, with all QiHoo360 processes blocked by default outbound FW rule, two possibilities:
    a) Tray application does a 'Neville Chamberlain' om me (everything is ok, when it is not, which is also worrying)
    b) Chinese QIHOO software bypasses my Windows FW with outbound connection (which is worrying)

Sadly option b is what happened see picture, Maybe offical 360 GUY (William GYW) can tell what access 360 grants itself with its root rights

Slightly off topic, but I just installed 360 Mobile Security on my Android phone, and am impressed. The scans are very fast. Qihoo's 360 Mobile Safe did very well in the latest Android testing by AV-TEST, so hopefully this performs just as well.

Maybe William can confirm if the detection will be the same between both products, as the interface for the English version bears no resemblance to the interface of the Chinese version.

Edit: I must add that 360 Mobile Security is a much more basic product that its Chinese counterpart, it just an antivirus with no extras such as anti-theft, backup, etc.

So far i have to say that I'm impressed with 360 AV. It shows no indication of coming out strong only to puke out someway which is been my experience with ALL the big player AV's in the past and why i ended up dumping them completely for HIPS & Virtualization protection.

360 doesn't get in your way and certainly hasn't dragged down my machine like i been used to with conventional AV retailers in the past. Imagine forking out a fee to guarantee dumbing down your good investment. I'm not there with that deception.

Funny thing is Norton IS is stored in my recovery partition so on a REFRESH i get to uninstall it all over again.

    - 360sdrun.exe is just a launch checking program, 360sd.exe is the real tray application.

    - The network port of 360rp.exe is used for local IPC(Inter-Process Communication), and because 360rp.exe is launched by service, so it's granted with elevated privilege.

Hello,I'm a new comer here just to tell you some info about Qihoo's dream team:

    yuange(top hacker of China)
MJ0011(driver genius, wrote a file system in high school)
    PJF(developer of Ice Sword)
wowocock(one of the two developers of DarkSpy)
    musehero(developer of SnipeSword)
    sandworm(developer of Malware Defender)
    and etc.

In fact,Qihoo is valued at $5.7billion at NASDAQ recently and there are also many incredible things about QVM and Qihoo's cloud engine:argh:

Grettings lovpsm and a warm Welcome To Wilder's

    Dream Team indeed!

If all those parties are indeed in unison maybe someone could encourage them to also update (please) their spectacular tools and ARK's to full compatibility with x64 systems?

Now there's a group who together could fashion a brand new classical HIPS program.

  23. Thanks, so conclusion is . . .

Ad 1. Tray icon does not appear when HKCU key is discarded/omitted, when sd not running, what protection is active?

New Question: with Baidu/Kingsoft download protection also works with Chrome/Chromium, Q360 does not show a pop-up after downloading a program with Chromium. Where can I check the downloaded is scanned with Chromium?
