Currently I am running Online Armor premium along with NOD32 a/v current version. This combination works great on my system. Intercept loopback interface is checked under options/firewall. Should I leave it that way? What is the purpose of this option? Thanks for your advise.

I believe it scans subnet systems. If you have others on your network just leave it on.

I see that you have MBAM Pro in your sig. Do you run MBAM Pro and OA in realtime..? It should be excluded in the OA>Exclusions List and MBAM Pro as on-demand only. Well that's in my case. I do exlcude all of my security apps in OA's exclusions list always now.

For the whole of 2012 I also felt that OA was heavy on my system but not now. I am running Emsisoft IS now and it okay no heaviness as of 6 months now. I tried also OA Premium and Avira IS(no firewall) / Avast IS (no firewall) and it was also zippy.

Taliscicero is right there (imo) other people on your network though you trust them should be scanned.

Someday you're going to actually provide a relevant response to a posted question. I hope I happen to be around to see it.

You might as well have replied that your dishwasher was on the fritz.

Someone here posted OA doesn't do anything.

I'm happy with Windows Firewall. :)

I'd be more happy if PW was stealth, then I would use it. :D

Zip, your post was indeed off topic for this thread as is this second one. Please confine your remarks to the topic of the original poster.

    Thanks,

    Pete

PS if you have problems with OA, why don't you ask for help in their forum.

Thank you AMIGA500 for the link. I read it several times. I still really don't understand if it is of benefit to me. I'm not on a home network. Just a simple 1 computer laptop on a wireless router.
