I see that there are two (2) ESET processes running: ekrn.exe & egui.exe

Should I add both of these processes to PowerApps & MemoryGuard Exception or just the ekrn.exe?

Just adding ekrn.exe as a powerapp is sufficient. :)

No one can help me please?

  4. Not enough information to be able to help, some suggestions:

What is your OS, what does the Event viewer (look in Administrative Tools of your start menu) tell you?

Have you checked the logs of your other security aps?

Have you tried creating that directory yourself?

Have you tried contacting BarbC (of AppGuard)?

I had a Windows crash (BSOD) after installing ESET NOD32 version 6.X. I had AppGuard turned OFF during the installation and AppGuard remains turned off on that PC. The Windows Minidump showed that the crash occurred in BrnFilelock.sys which is a part of EdgeGuard.

Was this just a freak thing that won't happen again? Is there anything that I can do to prevent this from happening again?

See the following Thread, starting with Post #14.

    Thanks in Advance.

    HI molhopicante

One suggestion. Try completely uninstalling EAM. I test for Emsisoft, but I found EAM just caused problems for me on my systems. (XP Pro SP3)

I noticed you have similiar problems with NVT ERP.

Also save your OA settings, and put directory exclusions in OA for both Windows and the program areas.

If all this works and you can get Appguard and ERP working you will be well protected, and OA will still alert you for new stuff coming in.

I am stumped. It has to be something unique to your system with the problems you've had with both Appguard and ERP. But what?

    Yes.

    Something strange.

    All other programs work well.

I tried Voodooshield and works well.

With ERP i can't open IE nor Outlook but i can install it without problem.

With Appuard, i can't even install it and give me the 1373 error.

You should send your dump file to BlueRidge Networks support if you have not already. It could be valuable for improving Appguard.

Sorry, I thought that this problem sounded familiar (another user had an installation issue recently and was able to solve it) and I wanted to review that case before replying. Anyway, it may be related to his problem (you are getting a different error message number, but it does appear to be similar). He solved the problem using http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agkNKi8VdLw.

If that doesn't solve your problem check the following:

    1. Are you logged into Windows as a local Admin?
    2. Have you disabled your Antivirus and other security software?
If you are still having issues, please run the AppGuard installation from a Command Prompt with the following parameters:

    Setup.exe /v “/Log c:\temp\logfile.log”

    Notes:

/v and /Log are case sensitive.

Please make sure that you are running the Command Prompt as an Administrator. Send the log to AppGuard@BlueRidgeNetworks.com.

    Hi.

    Thank You for your answer.

I tried the youtube solution but did not work.

I'm logged as a Local Admin and i tried to install into various ways, including the uninstallation of all my security software but still did not work.

    The command Setup.exe /v “/Log c:\temp\logfile.log” did not work.

    Only Setup.exe /v works.

I'm sorry, I'm not at a location where I can verify the answer, but please note, that the "Log" parameter is case sensitive. Also if there are spaces in the log file path, I think that you must put single quotes around it. I'll try to get a more definitive response later.

    Hi.

    Finaly I solved the problem.

Was a permission problem @ System in AppData Folder.

Here's the resolution in Portuguese Language:
Propriedades-Segurança (SYSTEM) - Avançadas - Permissões - Alterar Permissões - Editar -> Select all (Permitir)

You had another installation problem with something else. Bet the same solution works there.

I know you solved your problem, but I've had a chance to play around with the command line parameters for the installation package this morning. Apparently "Log" is not case senstivie, but there is no space between the /v and the quotation mark. So this should work:

    setup.exe /v"/log c:\temp\logfile.log"
I haven't figured out how to write to log file that has spaces in its path.

    You are right.

    ERP now works OK. :D

    EDIT:
I'm just editing to say that ERP only works when AppGuard is installed.

I'm testing both, and now I uninstalled AppGuard and the problem with ERP+IE+Outlook came back.

    Strange...
