F-Prot neglect

My "virus not detected by f-prot" collection are increasing, i sent virus to f-prot from May and f-prot doesnt detect then still.

I dont know whats the matter with f-prot, never happens this, i have registered with f-prot from a lot of years ago and i dont see anything like this never.

I have been writing coments on F-Prot support and nobody answered me, last response was on May/15.

I am very disappointed with f-prot.

 

Drop it.
There are better products.

 

Large company bought a small(commtouch>f risk software).commtouch bought f prot just for the engine.
In this case f prot very quickly almost extinguished.question the days when he would cease to exist.I think it will be very soon.
was officially announced that the version 7 go to 10.2012...we all know what the date is today a new version of the software does not.

 

IMO, it has been a third-rate scanner for a number of years now. Frisk simply did not have the money or manpower to keep up with the big increase in malware; for example I remember weeks over Christmas periods where no definitions were added to the engine and simple minor updates took months to appear. They were on their last legs for years.

Comtouch have simply bought them up for their engine as they did with Authentium/Command a few years ago and F-Prot as with Command, will simply be seen now as mainly a corporate/enterprise product.

But don't fret, much better free/retail Home products to choose from now. RIP F-Prot.

 

They are not reactive on submissions. Don't think they have great technologies and mostly work with few humans ... Their heuristic engine called "Eldorado" is great BTW.

 

F-Prot is, for the most part, dead now. Would really recommend you to start using something else

I have been testing free antivirus and i think that my decision will be AVG.

 

This is the end.... bye bye F-Prot...... and bye bye F-Prot icon... a lot of years with you.....

I have joined AVG Beta 2014 project.... it seems to be very good antivirus solution.

 

I have scanned with AVG 25 samples not detected by F-Prot.

AVG detects 20/25.

I am going to send to AVG samples not detected.

 

For example :

AVG uses great automated systems tech so their team of analysts analyse only 50 samples per analyst/day. The rest is done by automation.

You could run an antivirus company on a 5 man staff if you were able to automate the whole process. It will be interesting to see if anyone takes that challenge.

 

I Remember Vlk said "it could be even better if we had only 1 man because of automated systems..".

BTW, Panda Cloud is a great example : The Collective Intelligence process every suspicious files almost instantly without human analysis.

I somehow feel F-Prot started going downhill after it lost it's technology cooperation partners (F-Secure, Command, Iolo, etc.).

 

I'd say the relatively recent Icelandic financial crisis did its part too...
