Great results for CIS

avast also did great,but of course could have been better:

Avira faired averagely..Looks like CIS finally improved their AV engine in terms of detection of 0-day malware,switching over to CIS right away boys!

 

Protection (against malware infections such as viruses, worms or Trojan horses) :

Microsoft: Windows Defender 4.2 => 1/6 !!!!
Microsoft: Windows Defender 4.0 => 2/6 (Windows 8, 02-2013)

Check Point ZoneAlarm Free Antivirus + Firewall 11.0 => 2.5/6 !!!

BitDefender, F-Secure, Kaspersky, Norton = 100% protection.

 

WOW, COMODO only 1 point from 100%! Did not expect that. Lots of false positives though. Did expect that.

 

Hmm excellent results for Comodo.

Not much difference between AVG Free and Internet Security.

 

Middling performance for Webroot.

 

Not so great with the false positives though.

Was zero day improved that much or just random down and up?

 

We dont know what configuration was used and under what conditions the tests took place.
Just another test.

 

Both versions are 6.0. I wonder why the jump was so much as well. Maybe something to do with it being XP and not 8?

1/6 for scoring 85% of 133 files..... wow, 133...
97% detection of 22,517 files.

Yeah this clearly adds up to 1/6.

 

Currently I am extremely happy with CIS IMHO its the best security suite and that to for FREE

I will probably return back to avast,when automated dyna detection rules generator for their sandbox comes into action

 

Comodo's strong protection is finally certified. I hope they will drop the FP rate.

I think it's time to remove Zonealarm and replace it by AVG or Avast.

 

Just wait that the new beta will be out (www.zonealarm.com/beta). It will fix the bugs in the Kaspersky SDK engine
