The way I see this would be an overall more aggressive TPL as Fanboy's TPL's are more aggressive than EasyList or EasyPrivacy.

I think you're honestly right if it were to continue as Fanboy putting his stuff in the Easylist as well. However, the way I had thought this would go is that Fanboy was throwing in the towel and that Easylist was taking over the main list. If this is how it is, then in time most of the current Fanboy entries will either be weeded out over time or just stay unchanged, resulting in a longer Easylist and not necessarily two separate lists combined.

Aggressiveness is something I think needs looking at no matter who is leading. Just from general surfing I feel it may be getting a bit out of hand. Sites are breaking more and more, and I think some of it has to do with users asking too much for single entries they come across and don't want to see. The more you add to these lists, the slower they make things and the greater the chance something gets broke.

I thought Fanboy didn't have time for this anymore? So now he's just on their team, very confusing.

I agree that this is slightly confusing at this point - we'll see how this plays out.
Let's not speculate but those that use these lists, whether for IE or for Mozilla should beware of blocking behaviour of the lists in the immediate future.

"You do not need to do anything to get the new list(s), everything will be done automatically."
What does that mean? Users of both lists will automatically upgrade to this one list? Or duplicate versions on different servers? Or something else?

It means the last updated list you have will auto-magically update to the combined list on next update. I do think duplicates will be a problem at first, but that will get sorted out.

It would appear Fanboy lists abound and can be used all the same - regardless of this supposed integration of EasyList :cautious:

That would be an incorrect statement. This topic has raised many eyebrows in the ad-blocker community as well as those that use TPL's.
As I remarked further up this thread - we shall see how it plays out.
