Hi Team,

Today I noticed that with this last version, my homepages on IE8 are gone. Let me explain myself:

I usually have IE8 set to open 3 different tabs with a specific webpage assigned to each everytime I start IE. After running last version of PrivaZer, there's only 1 tab opening when I start IE. The other 2 tabs/webpages are gone.

Not sure if this is by design, but I hadn't noticed this behavior before.

I'm running Windows XP Pro SP3.

Hello atomomega,

you may uncheck "Recovery" and/or "Start pages" in the scan list for IE.

I found still a problem on 1.10: when scanning (No admin) "Computer" from the main window Internet traces are still undetected.
To detect those I have to select "Internet activities" and scan from there.

On Windows 8, I need to run Privazer as Administrator. Also, when I try to update, I need to update Privazer twice - first time as a regular user and second time as Admin.

Last night, I ran Privazer v.1.10.0. in the Admin mode. It was my regular deal -"Create a Restore Point", "Start Cleaning", and "Shutdown PC after cleaning".
This morning, my Windows 8 computer was still on with the message, "It will shut down in 0 seconds". Also, there was a message about "Changelog".

 

Guys, I am sorry but I cannot give any remote control of my PC: it's company owned and I am not allowed to do it.

 

Good work PrivaZer team: improved UI, improved closing, new features and, since the previous version, improved cleaning speed. Thank you !

1. That would be nice to know what is this message with "Changelog".

The PC shutdown in v1.10 is no longer "forced" but "forced if it hangs",
that means that if an app hangs when PC is shut down, this app is forced to close.
We will investigate to see if there are special shutdown options on Windows 8.

2. Concerning updates, maybe we could add an option to install/update PrivaZer for all users

3. Did you try to clean the new chrome-based web browsers ?

we finally succeed in reproducing it as not admin user.
This will be fixed in next release.

1. After any update, there is a pop-up window/message from Privazer about "Change Log". When I, logged in as Admin, updated Privazer and immediately ran "Scan in-Depth Computer", that "Change Log" pop-up window did not allow Privazer to shut down the computer.


2. I think it would be a good idea.
Right now, if I want to "Shred without a trace with Privazer" a file, I open Privazer as a regular user. After the shredding is completed, I click to close Privazer, but Privazer is not closed.
Next, I want to open Privazer as Admin, Privazer opens but is not in the Administrator mode.
Again, it's only a problem for Windows 8 computers.

3. I did not have any issues cleaning the Chrome browser.

I have an issue using "Clean my internet traces in 1 click !" with IE10 on Win 8 Pro x64. I have three home pages set to open with IE10. Every time I clean, the first home page is saved while the second and third pages are deleted. Is there a setting that I am missing or is this a bug with PrivaZer?

Privazer cannot shutdown the Windows 8 computer after cleaning is complete.
Where could I get any answers what's causing it?

1. Does Windows try to shut down ?

2. Could you give us the registry values you have here :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WaitToKillAppTimeout
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WaitToKillServiceTimeout.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\HungAppTimeout

 

1. Windows does not try to shut down.

2. Sorry, I could not find those registry keys on my Windows 8.
