On April 24, Isso mentioned the following:
"All the rest of the Wilders members can get 25% discount - just send me a PM when the program is released and I'll send a corresponding coupon."

Is this still true? The PM system currently seems down.

    Thanks!

The last version which does not have a 30 day trial limit is build 962. You can still download it here:
    http://ax64.com/temp/SetupAXTM_1_962.exe

This version should work fine with SSDs, but a lot of other problems have been fixed in the current version, so use it at your own risk...

    Cheers

    twl845/BG...

Only the AUTOMATC BACKUP snaps become consolidated (into each other), the MANUAL snaps always remain. When an older (than MANUAL) AUTO snap is consolidated into a newer (than MANUAL) AUTO snap, the older snap is completely integrated into the newer one, all its deletions and additions. At this point, any files which were in the original consolidated snap but not in the newly consolidated snap will be gone in the newly consolidated snap. But if they happen to have been in the MANUAL snap taken between them, they are fully available within that snapshot.

I know it sounds confusing... maybe Isso can come up with a clearer explanation.

DemonEye, I don't have a detailed explanation handy but AXTM will not be easily compatible with any sandboxing program because its surface tracking mechanism gets cached and deleted by the sandbox.

Similar things happened with Shadow Defender during the ALPHA/BETA period. I'll leave the detailed explanation to Isso on this one.

    Guys,

I've just started working on Knowledge Base, and the first posts are on compatibility issues. Please read it here:

I don't yet have information for DeepFreeze, will add it as soon as we or wilders members have time to test it.

I haven't been replying to the posts here for a while, sorry. Will do a bit later today. I can see that the forum, voting system, ticketing and knowledge base at feedback.ax64.com are nicely complementing this Wilders thread. I.e. we'll use ax64.com for ideas, bugs and knowlegde sharing, while Wilders thread will be used for general "chat".

    Isso

EDIT: any suggestions for Knowledge Base articles can go to Ideas page

Isso, your new forum seems to have a few bugs:

    1. I did not get an email for account confirmation. I then requested a resend, but I still haven't received it.

    2. Upon submitting an idea-post I was notified that it was unsuccessful, but in fact it 'took'.

    3. I don't see any way to delete one's own idea-post (because of unintentional duplicate, 2nd thoughts, whatever).

Finally, I would like to add my support for a dedicated AXTM forum on Wilders instead of the one you created on the AX64 website. Wilders is the place where many of us 'hang-out' and I believe it would be far more convenient to have the AXTM forums here!

That's the beauty of satisfaction when we finally get a firm grasp on the exact steps (of the many) integral workings of super apps like AX64.
For me it's almost like a return journey back to the old FD-ISR days. It had multiple uses but took just a little extra study to unleash some of its prized power features. AX64 Time Machine, even at this stage of it's infancy already is proving there's more potential yet to be realized!

I might add that I much prefer the layout and structure of Wilders forums!

I fondly missed FDISR until I installed AX64. Learning AX64 a bit at a time and looking forward to seeing it grow.

I think the new forum should be given a little more time to settle.

At first look it is much clearer about the ideas/suggestions being put forward, and for Isso it should be much easier for him to work on specific ideas. Forums tend to get muddled up with various ideas and is difficult to follow the logic through.

    Isso,
On Windows 8 you can create a system image backup via Control Panel / Windows 7 File Recovery.
I just noticed that installing AXTM on Win8 64-bit breaks my ability to create a system image backup - it just hangs forever.

To be sure it was AXTM I restored my system, using Macrium Reflect, to a backup before I installed AXTM.
Then I renamed the previous WindowsImageBackup folder to something else (so it would create a new system image)
and successfully created a new system image without AXTM installed.
Then I installed AXTM again, again renamed the previous WindowsImageBackup folder,
and when I try to create a new system image it seems to back up the ESP (EFI System Partiton) ok, and then hangs.

Is this a known issue? Perhaps somehow related to missing GPT support?

    manolito,

Thank you very much for this great idea, I wasn't thinking about using a ready-made solution. Explorer++ seems to be a great program. I'll see if we can come to an agreement with its developers to use it in our program.

Integration into boot.wim is not a problem - we can modify WIM without WAIK (we do actually - to integrate our program and custom drivers)

BTW your idea has the highest number of votes (http://feedback.ax64.com/) :)

    Hi Bob,

I can see some issues with XP recovery media, we'll be addressing it soon. Meanwhile you might want to create a support ticket, or file this issue as "Idea" at feedback.ax64.com - this way it'll be easier to see if more users experience the same problem, and maybe someone can point a workaround. Thank you

    Mata,

Merge is the same as deletion - just select a backup in Backup Browser and click Delete. Also the program automatically merges old backups when you select "Automatic hourly backup" option.

    Froggie,

That's an excellent explanation, I don't think I can explain better. Basically the manual backups are always available until one deletes them manually.

Thank you, I'm considering to do that, but maybe later. So far the feedback system at feedback.ax64.com plus this thread pretty much accomplish what's needed IMHO.

    Cruise,

I'll contact the forum developers, thank you for pointing this out!
    I'll delete the duplicate post.

For forum here on Wilders - as far as I can see the feedback system on feedback.ax64.com cannot replace a forum, instead let it be used for ideas and for bug reports, as well as for sharing common knowledge. As for general discussion - let's keep this thread.

    rjbu,

I didn't know about this issue, thank you for pointing it out. Would you mind to create a ticket for it? Just use the "Feedback and Support" tab on the top left corner of www.ax64.com page. Thank you
