My only "must" is ABP. I guess if you're really into security NoScript is a "must", but my on and off relationship with it finally got me to just dump it. Global scripting allowed kind of defeats the purpose, and globally blocked just isn't worth the time and effort to me.

My "must have" extensions are ABP and RequestPolicy.

I do wonder if RequestPolicy and NoScript cover the same things.

they cover a lot of the same things but RP is more granular in a per-site basis.

I use both as they cover different areas. Essentially, Noscript blocks executable content and RequestPolicy blocks requests to other sites.

Thanks for the Disconnect addon (also works for Chrome). Many pages i visit load 1,5 seconds faster now. :)

This extension rocks, I rarely got excited about Browser plug-ins, this would be one of them.

I tried Disconnect and after several hours, it hadn't blocked anything. I think I'm already getting the same protection through my other extensions.

Well, now I went through this on Chrome as well (though I've become very convinced Chrome treats these types of extensions differently). Have you tried re-installing the extension? Also, what are you looking at when you're determining that nothing is being blocked? Be aware that Disconnect will not block anything under "Content" unless you specify it. It remains grayed out and default allowed. Analytics, Social and Advertising will be seen as "green" though and each label is blocked by default. It's to keep websites working properly.

Correct me if im wrong please.
Is not the session manager a security risk in firefox..?

I remember a case where the winfixer rogue could use the session manager in firefox to infiltrate the host OS.

I'm looking at the addon's drop-down menu. For example, in this screenshot 19 Advertising and 6 Analytics requests were blocked. In my case, these were always showing 0 requests.

1-5 seconds is hardly significant to warrant using yet another extension.

Holy crap... 5 seconds difference. No page takes more than 2 seconds to load for me, and most pop up instantaneously right after I click the link. And this is with all caching disabled. I can't imagine what one would have to do for it to take 5 seconds for a page to load.

@kupo - Have you tried that extension? Does it work well? Does it block ads in YouTube videos? Can it handle pop-ups?
