WSA Internet Security Plus

I just bought a 3 device license for $7.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832296071

But, I have a question

• I bought the digital download version, it says that it offers Protection for PC/MAC/Tablet. My order confirmation/download in my E-mail points to a PC version installer only, Where can I download the installer for the Mac? Is there one?

I would like to use it on both PC and Mac, if possible.

Any help on this is much appreciated

I could figure it out myself, but I'm currently on a PC that involves work and I can't install to find out.

 

When you associate your license key in the webroot console:
https://my.webrootanywhere.com/default.asp

Under "manage keycodes" you will know the number of devices covered as well as time elapsed.
The number of days can be seem directly from the WSA GUI.

 

Yeah, I was planning on doing that anyways, but since I'm not at my personal machine at the moment, I figured while I had PrevxHelp, that I would ask.

I guess I can wait to find out when I get home, thanks Fax for the reply.

 

It should be good for a year and you will know for sure when installed the first time.

Yes, it is for a year.

I still can't get over on how light everything is.

 

I always find that the browser is the culprit in terms of high resource usage rather than any security program.

I have recently ditched comodo dragon and gone back to my favourite.good old firefox and things seem lighter.

 

All browsers are heavy

Out of all the browsers though, I think Internet Explorer is the lightest.

 

Question:

After I installed WSA Internet Security Plus, I noticed two extra startup entries, other than "WRSVC".

The extra startup entries are:

Program: Install Webroot FF RunOnce.Ink
File Location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\wruninstall.exe

Program: Install Webroot IE RunOnce.Ink
File Location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\wruninstall.exe

Do I need to keep these on startup, or are they safe to disable?

Plus, I've noticed that these two extra processes have a High Startup impact (According to Windows 8 Task Manager)

 

Those are the browser extensions for Lastpass which you can remove if you don't wish to use it.

The way I usually feel if it's a well performing security program is when I have the browser Closed, by opening/closing programs. And perhaps after that try to browse a while to see if the Sec program has an impact on the browsers speed. A good AV/AM should have zero or close to zero impact on the browser speed. If it has an impact (I can feel a drag when I am doing stuff) then it won't last long with me

 

I got one of the 7.99 licenses too. Is the lastpass the kind everybody can get or is it the one you're supposed to pay a dollar a month or something for? Does it work on the android webroot as well? Thanks!

 

Webroot-branded, uses LastPass technology, doesn't cost extra monthly, and yes, the Webroot Android App (Secure Browser) integrates it to have it work there too. The app is a free download and when you have IS+ or above, you can log into it for the extra features.

While Lastpass itself is more flexible (multiple platforms etc.) having it bundled with Webroot is pretty handy.

Doubt you can just have the Webroot extension without the application? (i.e. if I had to install it on a work PC).

 

You won't be able to download it standalone, although WSA's Lastpass integration should be very cross platform: it works on iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac.
