    Marc,

I'm really touched by your attitude, thank you so much! Let me just make a couple of clarifications: first, you have 100% discount (not 25%), because I promised free licenses to anyone who tries the program. Second, the comments, bug reports and suggestions that were made by you and others are really worth much more than a software license. I don't even mention the motivation boost that I receive by reading positive comments, which is priceless. So please allow me to do the minimum that I can and thank everyone with such a gift.
And don't worry about limited funds that our team has, because even if all of the people that were testing AXTM here on Wilders buys it, the total amount will still be negligible compared to the development expenses.
Should you want to help me more, please just spread the word. Thank you.

    Hi Kent,

Thank you very much, I'm really happy to hear that AXTM works fine for you, and honored by your intention to make it the primary backup.

He-he, I just imagined the program with youtube and facebook support :D
Like "share your backup video with your friends". Hmm, seems to be a neat idea :D

No, I too dislike the bloated programs a lot, so I promise to keep AXTM lean.

    Dear Norman,

Thank you very much for kind words. For multi-partition support: it depends on a number of factors, so I can give only a very rough schedule, but my guess would be in about 3-4 months from now.

Strange. I also see "Generic volume shadow copy", but only when a backup is ongoing. Once the backup is done, it disappears. But that's on my Win7 64bit machine. Haven't tried on Win8 yet...

Isso, I saw your free offer, but was wondering if my issue had ever been fixed? It had to do with a wireless USB mouse and DVD drive select.

    FROM Post #705...

OK, a few issues with my 32 bit XP Pro system.
First, I have 2 DVD drives. E: is a reader and F: is a writer.

When I tried to create the rescue media, I selected F:, however it insists on using E: anyway. So I did create the DVD as I told it to create an ISO and then I burned the ISO.

This comes up OK, but it will not see my Wired Keyboard or my Wireless Mouse.

Also, I did not see where I could compress the back up file. Is this not available?

These are created during VSS operations. AXTM should create one while running and it should go away when done. Any others would be normally related to "Windows SYSTEM RESTORE" restore points if you're using that system... I am not.

My situation pretty much mirrors puff-m-d in that I have also followed this thread from the beginning and have had no issues with the installed beta's so far and looking forward to the final release. I used Goback for many years till it's demise and never had any problems, then switched to RollbackRX but it has trashed my system a couple of times and though I still use it I don't trust it to be there for me when I really need it.
So have been looking for something better for a long time and have finally found it in AX64. I don't usually post to forums just read and ingest the knowledge but felt I should say thanks for AX64 and all your hard work and the way you have interacted and listened to all on this forum.

Zero3K, check to make sure it's off for sure, and if so, use the DELETE function at the bottom of the page then check your HIDDEN DEVICES again...

    1. I have System Restore disabled.
    2. Doing what you wrote doesn't get rid of them.

I tried to work around this problem by changing the settings to a different source partition, and this second partition was backed up just fine. Then I changed the settings back to the original system drive.

The only problem is that AX64 now thinks that it has to start from scratch, so the next backup of the system drive will be a full backup again. Maybe this behavior could be changed?:doubt: If this is possible then I really won't miss multi-partition support that much.

    Cheers

Isso, I have installed AX64 beta V1.0.0.956 and it set up the C drive to be backed up and selected my External drive E drive automatically. My first backup took 29 minutes 3 seconds to complete. (37gb) I then did a recovery disk and went to the Browser to check it out. That is really great! I will be doing manual backups for now due to the fact that I don't leave my computer running. Thanks for this fantastic software!

    MPSAN,

Sorry, I wasn't able to reproduce any of those issues. I tried with 2 CD ROMs - AXTM allows to select any. I tried wireless mouse and keyboard - they worked fine with recovery media. I'm not sure what might be the problem on your system, sorry. When you say "however it insists on using E: anyway" - do you mean that you can't see F: in the list? Or you can't select F:? Thank you.

    Zero3K,

I was able to reproduce it on one of my Win 8 systems, thank you. However the number of those devices remains constant no matter how many backups I do. I'll see if this problem is related to AXTM and will fix it if so.

    manolito,

Yes, that's the expected behavior, because as soon as you change the source drive, the tracking of the old one is stopped. However I'll see if it's possible to change this, so you can revert to the old one and create incremental backup. Thank you for the idea.

Thank you. I mean that it does see F but I can not select it. It goes to E anyway. OH, the DVD's are IDE drives.

Should I remove the program and d/l the latest or would it still fail?

Especially for you :) - version 1.0.967 released (www.ax64.com). Changelist:

    - Fix for a bug that sometimes caused unwanted full backups on network drives
    - Fixed a bug that causes failure to capture some of the hidden system reserved partitions
    - Fixed "Externally modified" warning for Windows 8
    - Fixed intermittent "System wasn't shutdown properly" messages
    - Added licensing (sorry, I know everybody will hate this :) )
    - Fixed a bug that sometimes prevents proper system hibernation
