    Hi Brian,

I recently purchased an All-In-One PC, which is ASUS ET2400IGTS. Got a very good deal for $800 as it was a demo piece but a new piece.

    http://www.asus.com/AllinOne_PCs/ET2400EGT/

It has EUFI BIOS which I don't know anything about. I don't know how to post screen shot in BIOS.

It has 1TB hard drive. I am waiting for a Sata Y Power Cable, so to put my 120GB SSD in it and make that the OS Drive. The 1TB will be the secondary drive. I will post the screen shot from Disk Management.

    1. Would the SSD work as OS Drive?

    2. After that I want to delete all Partitions on the 1TB Secondary Drive and make it 4 Primary Partitions, would it work?

    Best regards,

    1333 is correct.

Can you tell Mohamed how to do screenshots in the BIOS?

    Mohamed,

Great machine for $800. My wife wants one.

Does it have Win8 installed in UEFI mode? Look in Disk Management and check for an EFI System partition.

It is a good machine. It came out about a year ago in Windows 7 but with "Touch Screen". I believe the Windows 7 was installed as "MBR", but I am not sure. I will take the screen shots later this evening or tomorrow morning and post them here.

However, I purchased the Windows 8 during the sale period for $14.95 and upgraded it Windows 8, but left the ASUS "Touch Screen" programs on it as I upgraded. They work perfect as "Touch Screen" in the Old GUI.

    Best regards,

If you don't have an EFI System partition in Disk management your Win7 is in MBR mode. I prefer MBR mode.

Edit ... A screenshot of Disk Management will be helpful in deciding how to upgrade to the SSD.

From memory, I seems to think that it had an EFI partition. I will post the screen shots when I get home and then will ask my questions.

    Hi Brian,

Here is the screen shot of the Disk Management. It shows EFI.

    Mohamed,

I think it's a MBR drive. Can you post a screenshot of the upper half of Disk Management. The text is cut off after "EFI" and we'll get the full text from the upper half and the data amounts.

Edit.. Also, start diskpart from an Admin Command Prompt. Type

    list disk (and press Enter)

Look in the Gpt column, is there a * present?

    Hi Brian,

Here is a better screen shot. No, there is not a * present in the GPT column.

    Best regards,

    Mohamed

    Mohamed,

Despite that partition being labelled EFI System, Win7 is installed in MBR mode. So you can upgrade to the SSD by either Copying the Win7 partition or using Image/Restore. Make sure the 1 TB HD is removed from the computer for the first boot from the SSD. Then it can be reinstalled as a second drive.

    Hi Brain,

I usually use HDClone free for this type of things. However, I am still waiting to receive from eBay.com a SATA Y Power Cable, so that I can keep the original 1TB Hard Drive and the DVD too. The wait is still on and now it has been more than a month.

The ASUS repair man tells me that it has enough SATA HD Connectors inside but not enough SATA Power Connectors. Only two Power Connector inside and therefore I need a SATA Y Power cable to power all three devices; the SSD, the 1TB Hard Drive and the DVD.

He is a hardware man and not a software man. Once, I get my SATA Y Power Cable, than I have to take the ASUS Computer to him to insert the SSD, as I don't know how to open it. He tells me that he will wrap the SSD in the bubble wrap and tap it to somewhere inside.

In my Lenovo Desktop, which has a small foot print, I had to insert an PCI Express Card to get an extra SATA HD Connector and a SATA Y Power Cable too. I just left the SSD on top of inside casing.

    Best regards,

    Mohamed

    Hi MudCarb,

I imagined with IFW the MBR 0 (16360)MiB Hidden Fat-32(01) Partition. Then I verified it with IFW and it verified OK. But when I open it with TBIView but it gives me error.

    Here are the screen shots.

    Best regards,

    Mohamed

    Hi MudCrab,

I tried to imagine with both IFW and Macrium Reflect the MBR 3 (39 MiB) EFI System (04), but got the same error as above with both TBIView and Macrium Reflect Viewer.

    Best regards,

    Mohamed,

Thanks for that. It will probably be later today before I get a chance to look over it.

    Mohamed,

The partition is completely empty (no files, no file system, etc.) so it makes sense that the viewers failed. I would assume that the partition is just used by the system as needed -- if it's used at all.
