Two computers with two licenses. Same Username and password for both. puter 1 windows 7 pro 64-bit, puter 2 window 7 pro 32-bit. I have updated ESET SS to 6.0.316.0 on puter 1. When trying to remove the old ESET on puter 2 it won't accept the password. What to do?? Also I still don't like the idea of deleting ESET and then having to go online to download the new version. Seems risky to me.
If you have forgotten the settings password or it's not being accepted when you try to uninstall, you can download the unlock utility HERE and contact Customer Care for the Unlock CODE or run the manual uninstaller tool in safe mode HERE.
Thank you for responding Dwomack. I have never had a settings PW. I can't uninstall the current program to reinstall the latest one.
The password that ESET is asking for when you try to uninstall...is the settings password. It would be a user-defined password that's different from your license information. Since you don't remember setting this up, the manual UNINSTALLER TOOL should help you uninstall the old product, so you can reinstall the new one.
I have been an ESET Customer for many years and have never had a settings password. The method you suggested sounds risky. The uninstall worked o the windows 7 64-bit puter so why not on the Windows 7 32-bit puter?
Without comparing SysInspector logs from both computers and scrutinize each difference (outside of the 64-bit vs 32-bit thing which shouldn't affect anything) it's hard to pinpoint exactly what happened here. The Manual Uninstaller Tool is run in safe mode. The risk is minimal or I wouldn't suggest it and ESET wouldn't offer it. If you aren't feeling too confident about the options I suggested, you could always contact our Customer Care department by phone (619-630-2300) and they would be glad to walk you through the process.
