UNIX Shell Script Tutorials

What are some good UNIX Shell Script Tutorials for Newbies? In my new job, I may be asked to occasionally write/modify UNIX Shell Scripts.

Currently, I do not have any experience with UNIX Shell Scripts.

What works for me, might not work for you.

Different shells have different syntax and scripting features, you need to know which shell will run your scripts.

Just a few examples

 

All of the Scripts end with .sh.

 

You need to read the scripts and determine which shell is supposed to run it: Shebang (Unix)

 

I found out that it is called "UNIX Korn Shell Scripting".
