I have an issue where I automatically get punched out of full screen mode when I am in a game. The screen will go black for a few seconds and when it comes back I will be out of full screen mode.

Concurrently, I have an issue where I enable my gamer mode before I go in a game, but I notice after I finish the game that gamer mode is somehow disabled.

I would like to know if these issues are related, but for sure I would at least like to know why the gamer mode is disabling itself.

    Thanks.

    Hey joachim23

Have had a similar issue. My problem was, that I had the screen saver in windows enabled. So if you have that function turn on, then try to completely disable it, to see if you are still punched out of full screen mode , as you write.

    Regards, Janus

    Hey thanks Janus.

Sadly, that would have been the first place I would have looked, but I never even run a screen saver. More trouble than they are worth.

The two issues may or may not be related (that is the issue of getting punched out of full screen mode in game and the issue of my ESET gamer mode arbitrarily disabling itself).

My first priority is to find out why the gamer mode is disabling itself.

    Anyway, thanks again.

If you or anyone else has any other ideas, i'd love to hear them.

The screen going black, before reappearing in windowed mode sounds like your graphics card is rebooting itself. Are you sure it's not overheating, or has a driver issue?

Both are things that I have considered.

I did get a notice a few weeks ago that there was an updated driver, so think I am up to date there.

I don't know how to check for an overtemp of the GPU?

It's a GTX580 playing regular games, nothing crazy. I'd be surprised if
    it was overheating.

This is a frustrating issue. I appreciate your input.

You could try Speedfan for monitoring your GPU temp

    Speedfan

With Speedfan open, try running a GPU stress tool such as FurMark and monitor the temps. Google suggests 97 celsius is the max safe temp for a GTX580.

I have same issue, when i select the automatic gamer mode.
The screen go to black for a few seconds. When i turning off the automatic gamer mode, everything is fine again.
So, this is the Eset software problem. I dont have screensaver or overheating problem and i have other VGA, i have AMD and not Nvidia video card.
