I may be wrong. I have not encountered an infection. But the version number is still .889 and that's the version users here at Wilders' been bashing, so I just assumed the quarantine feature isn't in place yet. I'm sorry if I've been misinformed.

That being said, let's hope we'll see some new bugs fixed soon. I am as I stated in my previous post quite satisfied with Bitdefender AV Free!

I agree, the free product should be a shining example to help promote sales of the paid product.

The main problem here with the free AV is that there is no apparent developmental progress going on at all, and very very little honest communication about it either. As a result, many people will move on...

It detects malware. What else do you want?

It sure protects systems well. In my case it completelly prevents me from using Windows 8... and with their slow moving development, i know exactly what he means...

And bam, this baby kills another machine. Pulling this off every machine I've installed it on now. Though running into issues with that even, it doesn't seem to want to do a clean uninstall........

    Thanks, continue on..

To me it seems like 99% of these tools do absolutely nothing. I just don't get it how program's own developers can't make a removal tool that actually removes EVERYTHING that was crapped on the system!? Every single that i tried of them did a half arse job, leaving all bunch of stuff behind or not resolving the issue where program failed to run. And this was the case with BD. I've run their uninstall tool several times and it did exactly nothing apparently.

As for my final two cents on BDFA (atleast till a comment catches my eye) I would never and will never use a AV that doesnt give the user the option to even enable interactive decision making when dealing with threats. They can make all the promises they want as to it "wont delete system files" but theres just way to many wildcards with this approach.

I've sent pm to some of you who recently had problems with bd avfree, to investigate further and fix those issues.

    BINGO!

I consider Bitdefender is a very decent company. Nonetheless I would use a payed suit instead of using unmanageable freebie.

Unfortunately the suit has been much more problematic and heavy than the freebie, at least in my experience. I uninstalled it even though I had a free 1 year license from a promotion.

Hi :) Do you mean the next update with the improved quarantine will be delayed? :doubt:

Think of it this way. BD devs are perfectionists and are taking their time to make the product top notch.
