    novirusthanks,
Does EXE Radar Pro block autorun.inf files from running on an inserted usb thumb drive? I noticed that a usb drive opens automatically once inserted. I already have "Automatically block processes executed from USB" checked in Menu>Settings>Advanced.

    Thank you.

    nvt,

can you make ERP to block opening (autorun) of USB/CD/DVD/BLURAY devices so users would not have to change it through Group Policy?

    @Trespasser @siketa

Actually ERP monitors and blocks (if the option is enabled) any executable started from an USB device. Do you mean something like disabling the Autoplay feature for all devices ? Like this tweak: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/967715

We can add an option in ERP to "Disable AutoRun on all kinds of drives" that can set the registry value "NoDriveTypeAutoRun" located in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\ and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\ to 0xFF. Here are other possible values:

We may also allow user to apply any of these options.

    novirusthanks,
Actually, I like that my usb drive auto opens on insertion. But I do not want anything auto-executing once the usb drive is inserted. I think it's that way already, correct?

    Thanks.

Correct, if you have the option "Automatically block processes executed from USB" checked, ERP will automatically block any executable file that tries to auto-execute once the usb drive is inserted.

You guys keep asking and the answer is the same. NVT can't say because he is working on some things and when they are done it will be released.

2.7.3 is actually working fairly well.

maybe its working well for you,but I have a few niggling problems which have already been described and replicated which overtime have become quite irritating hence the need to ask the question!

I think the priority should be bug fixing and then addition of new features!

I'm also finding that pairing NVT EXE Radar Pro and NVT PE Dropper Monitor make for a stellar setup.

I got to say...loving these products :thumb:

I have yet to test it but what a great addition to ERP setup!
Now, you can easily detect malware dropped files and hopefully delete them with few clicks....

Clearing the interface? could you elaborate more on this?

Oh I know, that release is going to be a major overhaul, which is exciting to be honest.

    I suggested to:
*remove homepage links in GUI banner (already done) and GUI header/caption (will be done)
*remove About option (it gives you only info about version and homepage link....you already have that in other options)
*Menu-Start New Process (already moved to Processes tab) etc.

I use the parental control feature of windows 7 home premium.I have whitelisted all my applications and anything unknown is blocked.
How is NVT different to this please as they seem to amount to the same thing.
    Thanks.

    EXE Radar Pro:

    • Alerts for 99.9% of file executions
    • Gives detailed information about an executed process
    • Lockdown mode for the whole system, nothing shall pass (Unless you disable Lockdown Mode, but even then...you're still alerted)
    • Real-Time Protection
    • Password protect only the processes you want
    • Monitor processes
    • ERP has lots and lots of customization options
    • You can use in commercial environments

Parental Controls work's very well as an Anti-Exec, but I use ERP simply because of the features I listed above. The only thing that sets this apart from ERP are the following.

    • Forbid access to certain TV shows or Movies through Windows Media Player
    • Computer time limiter

    and...

I may be wrong on this, but I believe you can also restrict certain websites, I don't know, I may be thinking of Windows Live Family Safety.

I'm sure there is a ton more features I forgot to mention, but that's all I can think of for right now.
