The concept is a good one...it runs well on Win 8 Pro 64 bit with Sandboxie...and I look forward to the next release with all the new improvements, erikloman. :).

Thank you for keeping us informed.

    Regards,

    Bob

Any indication when we can expect a new version?

After recently creating the Log folder, I have seen a lot of these messages - are they important ?

OpenProcess 884 failed with error 5

Had a chance to look at these again, and it appears the process that is causing the alleged "error" is audiodg.exe

tens of thousands of these alerts in the log, the numbers increase significantly if any audio is actively playing, but still increase at a slower rate when there is nothing utilising the system audio.

The log is only there for testing purposes. The Error 5 is normal for audiodg.exe.

A new version of HitmanPro.Alert is in the works. A new beta will be out in the next few weeks.

Thankyou Erik - I don`t have the folder created all the time, I just created it temporarily out of curiosity.

Great news about the new beta :thumb:

It seems that when Applocker is enforced (Win 7 x64), the flyout doesn't appear when opening a browser for the first time after a reboot but re-appears as usual if the browser is restarted, something you might wish to look into for the next beta

Interesting project. Trying it right now.
Question: When this is released it will be built into HMP or it will be offered as a separate software?

    Hello,

Today I installed Sandboxie 4.02, and whenever I try to run the latest version of Mozilla Firefox sandboxed I get a warning from HitmanPro.Alert (the details are too long to fit in the image but it does show the only text that appears in red):

Is this a false positive, because I did not have this happen until installing the newest version of Sandboxie and this does not happen when Firefox is not sandboxed?

    Thank you,
    -John Jr

    Seeking Testers for HitmanPro.Alert v2

    Hi everybody!

It has been a while but its almost here. We are finalizing HitmanPro.Alert version 2 with an entirely new architecture!

Before we release it to the public we are looking for Beta testers for Alert v2.

Please send me an email (erik@surfright.com) and I'll supply you with the Beta binary tomorrow (Thursday).

Looking forward to hear from you guys! :thumb:

Re: Seeking Testers for HitmanPro.Alert v2

    - Same simple usage as v1
    - Greatly improved compatibility with 3rd party software hooking into browsers.
    - Lowered CPU usage even more compared to v1 (was already low)
    - New configuration GUI (I will post screens shortly)
    - Robust against attacks
    - Basic hardening against some malware families by letting computer appear as virtual machine (some malware doesn't run if it detects its running virtualized).
    - Totally rewritten from scratch
