    Hi all,

I'm looking into setting up some free VPN software on my home network. I was thinking of using it on this LAN so that I could send more secure IMs to people on the same network.

For some reason OTR encryption isn't working on one of my PCs so I was wondering if this might be a better solution for communications on the same LAN. Thanks.

Running a VPN on your home LAN seems like overkill.

What's your risk model, if I may ask?

It would be better to secure the LAN, I think.

Or you could put "safe" and "unsafe" computers on separate vLANs, carried by the same physical LAN.

Throw in the optional VPN adapter of TeamViewer as well. I've used all 3 and in order of "Ease" it's Hamachi, TeamViewer (both close together) and then NeoRouter.

    PD
