Comodo Firewall & Tor

Are there any Comodo Firewall rules I should establish before using Tor?

Also, would it make any difference if I use Tor in Sandboxie?

 

Anyone?

 

I don't think that TOR would have any benefit from being run inside Sandboxie... As for Comodo Firewall, the situation is more complex, and it depends on what you want to do with TOR (use it occasionally or permanently).

 

I would only user TOR occasionally.

 

I haven't done this, but I would think that using Comodo's very configurable "Application Rules", you can prevent Tor/Vidalia/TBB from contacting anything that isn't Tor related. The trick is finding out just what, exactly, all those addresses and ports are.

I do this for my Portable Browser and the VPN...if it drops, all communication for browser stops.

you can setup comodo to easily drop anything that you havent allowed it to connect to by specifiying seperate allowed network connections and then just setting up a couple simple global rules , and thats it no leaks no real ip no nothing except what YOU allow , be it vpn or whatever

 

The problem is that securitynoob79 said he wants to use TOR occasionally, and this means he can't block everything except TOR all the time. And Comodo Firewall (at least v5 that I am using) doesn't have an option to enable/disable rules (just add, edit and delete).

 

Comodo has a checkbox "Exclude, ie. Not the Choice Below" for IP ranges. You can use this to toggle the blocking on different networks. With it checked, all Tor IPs would be allowed, everything else blocked. With it unchecked, everything but Tor would be allowed. It's a pretty quick process that I use when I want my VPN browser to connect when I'm not on the VPN.

In order to do that, I believe that you need a list of TOR entry nodes. Is there such a list available? I know about the one listing all exit nodes, but for entry nodes I'm not sure...
