Is it as light on resources as BD AV Free? I don't think so.

BD AV Free is the perfect balance between resource usage/protection. It's stripped from all the unnecessary features such as "online wallets, cloud back-up, software firewalls" et cetera that I do not need. I'd even buy the free product if it was possible.

    Point them out.
I don't recall seeing any rude or obnoxious posts from people complaining about the lack of a quarantine. I also don't see how anyone could be rude or obnoxious about this, given that it's a free product. If it's that big of a deal breaker, use another solution or pay for the Bitdefender product that does have a quarantine. Not that hard to do...

I think you're exaggerating and pulling the "stand up and protect BD otherwise they're going to cancel the program" card and it's not necessary.
People are pointing out an obvious omission in the product. BD has stood up and said they'll add the feature in an update; people may be waiting a little impatiently because we're anxious to use the product, but I don't see anyone being disrespectful or negative about having to wait. It's not as if there are posts going "this is BS, F BD and this lackluster POS product, what a bunch of jerks" etc etc.

Wow, the line at the dead horse is long. As has been said multiple times, the restore 'issue' is going to be addressed in the next update or two. When? Whenever it gets here.......Period. If you can't wait, then try a different free product until the update is released.

The bitdefender antivirus plus beta is very light. Is says it visibly improves speed as it adapts and moulds to the pc in the matter of hours. The update was always giving me warnings so i have gone back to the free version

I feel the need to point out something that one will consider too obvious: in all my talks, when I said "we", I was referring to the Gonzales team, not Bitdefender organisation/engineering.

And for sure, I'm not entitled to discuss/disclose any details regarding Bitdefender intentions, changes in priorities, team sizes or other sensitive info..

Maybe I was already giving too much indirect inside (as I was never wanted to hide/lie or to insulte anyone's intelligence), so from now one I'll pay more attention on what I will communicate, including any estimate/deadline or whatsoever.

Thanks and please take the positive part (if any) of my message.

The fact that you reply to any of our questions is positive enough. ;)

o_O . If you think I'm going to sieve through over 1500 posts just to find examples to satisfy you then you're sadly mistaken. If you couldn't spot them yourself then, obviously, the meaning of "rude" is relative to the person reading it. Besides, why bother? I'm sure you would disagree with anything that I might point out. You seem to be of that disposition.

I was just wanting people to be a little bit more civil...that's all. But, c'est la vie.

    Have a nice day. :D .

    Later...

In all honesty I'd rather have the BD team take their time to make BD Free nearly perfect with each version instead of pumping them out quicker possibly forgetting features and bug fixes and whatnot.

There's not only issues between MBAM and Bitdefender AV Free.

I've also found issues between Webroot SecureAnywhere and Bitdefender AV Free.

Please note that I've reported this to the Webroot staff as well.

"I'm having some issues with Chrome and Webroot SecureAnywhere. If I have Identity Shield activated and start Chrome (latest official build) I cannot browse. The browser starts, but with a blank page. I cannot browse to any site at all. when I de-activate Identity Shield, Chrome works flawlessly again.

Is it possible to solve this issue ASAP?"

Is BD AV Free using the same "hooks" as WSA? Could that cause the issues between them both?

by the answers i got from Bitdefender support ,Bitdefender products need to run on their own

I don't buy that argument. A user should never rely on a single layered protection. You need protection on several layers.

Especially Bitdefender AV Free should not run on its own as it doesn't provide complete protection on all attack surfaces.

Then if you get issues ,you know where they came from, thats all.
I sent some logs off to their support and was told after they checked that it was because i had Zemana and Malwarebytes installed.I was given links to uninstallers for them.
Run something else if you want to run loads of antiviruses .

No. This is something Bitdefender needs to fix.

If Bitdefender doesn't allow other software that were made for running alongside an Antivirus (ie MBAM, Comodo Firewall or WSA (which of course can be run by itself)), they NEED to fix it.

I'm not. Bitdefender is a giant that is unlikely to listen to our solicitation.

Sure, but you'll be long dead of asphyxiation by the time they've actually implemented the changes into their products.

I just uninstalled the absolutely excellent piece of software Bitdefender AV Free as it conflicted with so many other security applications.

I'm always using a layered approach and BD AV Free just didn't cut it interfering all the time.

Who can blame them ,how many users in the real world would use products such as MBAM, Comodo Firewall or WSA with it .

I don't think it's unreasonable at all to think that many people might want to use Comodo Firewall or MBAM with it, especially Comodo Firewall. Usually developers of security products attempt to resolve conflicts and make their products compatible with others as much as possible.
