I saw the thread here about avast! 8 beta, but didn't realize the Browser Cleanup Tool was available as a separate download until I saw this post at Neowin. Does anyone know if the Data Shredder is available separately as well?

Data Shredder is a paid for feature (browser cleanup is free), so i wouldn't expect it as stand-alone...

Nice! Is this a portable tool or does it need to be installed?

(I´m currently using a portable version of Toolbar Cleaner -http://toolbarcleaner.com/- created with Cameyo...)

Already tried it, and it doesn´t need to be installed.

There´s an option to revert IE, Firefox and Chrome to default settings :thumb:

Can't really test this. It list IE, even though I have it uninstalled, and it doesn't list Firefox, even though I have it installed  .

you cant uninstall "internet explorer", only its starting process here
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer
"internet explorer" is a collection of components, without you cant do "windows".
wether or not it wont help your security a bit, its a fake security.

firefox is listed - which version do you use? waterfox or other x64 build? ;)
possible is destroyed or wrong registry information from older version.

In the past, that only removed shortcuts and it didn't really remove anything else. Considering Win8 has much higher itegration of everything due to its tile start menu, it's even less likely. In fact it even has Adobe Flash for IE that you can't remove...

    Wrong,
my has been totally removed, it is possible, I have left just a couple of components in the system 32 folder that were necessary for some other functions maybe this is what you are speaking of, there is not even a folder for internet explorer in the programs folder:D
