I don't know what the problem is but two days ago I started getting a problem calling up my emails on Outlook 2010. ( I check with my hosting server and no problems there) I use XP and I have no problems with the internet. I have made no changes to ESET I do have pre-release updates checked and I did a reverse and unchecked pre-release and it did not make any difference. Just checking to see if anyone else has suddenly had some email slow ups. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. KOR-

    Hi.

I think that switch from prerelease to release give you nothing (Marcos can confirm) you have most probably newest available modules versions and on release there are older I think.

So to really switch to release one - I think you need to reinstall product.
    But this is my guess.

Have you tried to disable some components?

    regards

Not sure which components to uncheck. It just started dragging on the scan this last Thursday and the green bar of Outlook shows it calling up emails but just sits there loading up but not moving through anywhere near as fast as it did. Just wondered if some new module could be the cause. KOR-

Does disabling email protection or integration with MS Outlook make a difference?

Marcos- Thank you for your reply. Yes, I disabled email protection and it loads up emails fast as it did before this slow up.

I assume that you left integration with MS Outlook enabled so emails were scanned anyway, right?

Yes Marcos, I did leave integration with Outlook. Any idea if it is a module or if this will get remedied in future updates?

    Thanks again. KOR-

Do you receive email via IMAP or POP3? Could you confirm that disabling the appropriate scanner (POP3 or IMAP) makes the problem go away? Would it be possible to create and provide me with a test account on the mail server you connect to so that I can try to reproduce it?

One more thing, please try disabling HIPS (followed by a computer restart) and try to reproduce the issue. Does that make a difference? Could you please post here a list of installed modules?

OK Marcos. Thank you for your attention to this. I disabled HIPS, but I left the email client protection enabled. With that setup it seems to work. If I have further problems I will get back to you. Perhaps the new version will resolve, but I have yet to install. KOR-

With HIPS and Self-defense enabled, please try the following:
    1, enable email protection
2, disable integration with MS Outlook and try to reproduce the problem
3, enable integration with MS Outlook, untick the "Enable POP3 protocol checking" box and try to reproduce the problem

Let us know whether the problem goes away after performing step 2 or 3. Also try switching to regular updates (you seem to have pre-release updates enabled at the moment) and try to reproduce the problem (make sure HIPS module 1070 is installed).

Marcos-Thank you again for your help. I did not go through any of the above steps you suggested except I did switch to regular updates. I enabled HIPS and Self-defense and have email protection enabled. It would seem that it has cleared up on its own. Don't know for sure but I will keep checking to see if it really has rectified. I did not install the newer version yet, I will wait until I see how this current set-up is working. KOR-

Could you confirm the issue doesn't occur now even with pre-release updates enabled and HIPS v.1071 installed and all features enabled? (ie. HIPS, email protection, POP3 checking and integration with MS Outlook enabled)
Should you encounter the problem again, we would appreciate if you could follow the steps menioned in my previous post and let us know about your findings. It will help us a lot.

Marcos- I updated to 6.0.314.0. I now have HIPS v.1071 and I have everything on default. I just enabled the pre-release updates. I do not know how it will be with the morning big email call up and if I have further problems I will follow the steps mentioned in your previous post. However, so far it seems OK. Thank you.
