I used to see disk check on every 30th boot.But I never see it on my system after installing Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.Before I had 3 partitions but now I have only the Ubuntu system and only 1 partition,can this be the cause.I do not see a boot list and when I boot my PC it directly boots into Ubuntu. In the log file viewer there was a boot part in my previous PC but now there is no boot part.I only have Xorg.0.log auth.log dpkg.log mail.log and syslog.
Its not been needed for a long time due to reliability of the commonly used filesystems (mainly EXT4) to be in a consistent state after an unclean shutdown (eg power loss or holding power button down). Cheers, Nick
Thank you After a search I found the var log boot.log in nautilus : fsck from util-linux 2.20.1 /dev/sda1: clean, 466882/30007296 files, 8045904/120025600 blocks modem-manager[838]: <info> ModemManager (version 0.5.2.0) starting... modem-manager[838]: <info> Loaded plugin Novatel modem-manager[838]: <info> Loaded plugin Sierra modem-manager[838]: <info> Loaded plugin ZTE BUT there is nothing about the time of the last fsck.When I check the properties of the file I see the accessed and modified time is the date of today.
