Logs show "READ" at same timestamp -> Can this be anything other than copying files?

Hi all,

I need to proof that files have not been copied.

However, computerlogs are showing "READ" for hundreds of files at the exact same timestamp (incl second), can this be explained other than copying the whole dataset, i.e. "read" needed by the computer to copy?

Is there any other reasonable explanation possible, knowing that a human cannot open so many documents at the same time to read it?

Uh, you did not even specify what OS are we talking about, let alone what logs shows "READ". Definitely not Windows event log. Other than that, things like defrag, antivirus scan or whatever will read large amount files whenever they hit them.

"I need to proof that files have not been copied" is complete nonsense. It's like - you lend money to someone, he does not pay you back and instead shows you a middle finger salute, telling you "prove me I did not return the money". ROFL.
