If you take in consideration of Valkyrie + CAMAS + manual signatures it might have very well detection ...
Still don't understand what's wrong with valkyrie to don't get used ...

    To Breakfastofchumps: No, windows firewall.

To Beethoven1770: What I don't like from Comodo is the file submissions or FP(s) submissions from the program itself...
.They are never analysed (they receive 100 000 unknown files every day) you can submit an FP , after 2 years still detected, then you go to forum you submit it, it gets fixed in almost 1 day (or less).

.The FP(s) from CIMA (i.e Heur.Suspicious or UnclassifiedMalware or TrojWare.Win32.Trojan.Agent.Gen... which are generated automatically by it) once fixed, are redetected once program is updated ... Let's explain it better :

    1) I download a.exe which is a safe file.
    2) It's detected by Comodo (FP) as Heur.Suspicious
    3) So it's a malware in Comodo cloud (not unknown or safe).
    4) You submit it to forums (or e mail or website submission but never from program).
    5) It gets fixed
    6) A new version of that a.exe, has been released
    7) You update it
 New version >> New file >> Hash changed >> becomes unknown...
    9) What happens ?
10)File is submitted to CIMA (after being autosandboxed)
    11)Heur.Suspicious :)

Its experimental and fairly new.I dont use it i prefer sandboxie which is extremely well time tested and proven.
There will be bugs.Thing is how long will it take to rectify these things.
Did the settings get shown in the video as the virtual environment can be doctored and shared spaces can be chosen at will.
Until this leak as its termed is widespread then you need to keep an open mind.

I find it quite effective, If you look around for some tests it has around the detection capabilities of Avira/avast! and even if it doesnt I would say its detection rates are around 95-97% total, and you also must remember that the AV isn't acctualy their first "Thought" its more on the D+ side of things.

If I remember they said something about "Payoffs" at big independent tests. who knows, I trust their protection though There's enough videos out there proving its effectiveness.

Comodo do not consider some of those testing organisations properly certified.
There is a thread about this over at the comodo forum.

The topic of this thread is CIS 2013... the product. Not Comodo as a company, their forum, their fans or detractors, and definitely not their CA business. The CA business issues have been the subject of many threads here in the past. If there is a new incident or even new announced improvements in that system, then it would be the subject of a new thread.

All the CA and forum related posts have been removed.

For this thread, let's stick with talking about the product CIS 2013.

Right, i always add them trusted list myself.
Freemake Video Converter, Cameyo and some others.
I cant believe but Ati driver files is not labeled safe.

But i used kaspersky, KIS has same ability, it can run unknown files with restricted rights. and it has same problem.

And the whole Reputation stuff with Age etc., again has been done by NIS 3 years ago. Looks like CIS is many years behind even with their latest version. They are missing reputation, how many users are using the file, the performance characteristics of the file etc.

Personally, I Like the Rating scan. It add's a nice layer of unobtrusive security if you look at it the right way. The only thing I wish is that they would implement a function with it like Norton's where it shows if its used by many users or not trusted by many users ect.

CIS is not like Norton BTW. The files are not automatically whitelisted or blacklisted (unless detected by CIMA) by systems but manually analysed ... Norton's whitelist is better as every files are whitelisted continiously etc (like Avast and FileRep).

The only problem I had with that is that I had almost 200 unknown files ... No need !

See I thought that too, but I took the number down alot by adding files I know to be good to trusted files the rest I'm 99.9% sure are good but ill let those good so their behavior can be monitored
