This true of all the reputation scanners. However, WOT has impressed me in that they do check out a site before flagging it as a bad guy. So it is not 100% user input. Norton's Safe Search on the other hand is worthless in my opinion. Once in a blue moon might a site be flagged as really bad.

What could I have possibly said to make you think I'm a troll?

Thanks for all the advice, everyone. I knew there had to be a way. I'm still doing research on these suggestions, but thanks for the help.

You cannot protect someone from his auto-destructive impulses. It is always better to educate him than to restrict him. Having said that it is possible to achieve what you want:
1st, no admin rights and control over the installed apps (e.g. no instant messaging or voip programs that use encrypted protocols).
2nd, you'll have to install a identity protection program that will block sensitive info from leaving the pc. Most security suites offer such feature.
3rd, you will have to block all https connections except the ones that are absolutely necessary for his activities (e.g. e-banking).
    4th, K9 is also a good addition.

This is what I'm looking at based on the posts here.

    ZoneAlarm Id block
    K9
    Adblock
    Prepaid debit card
    Possibly WOT

Thanks for all these ideas. Now I have to learn/test them all out to see if they will work.

I wish I could educate him but I can not. He can't remember anything. Unfortunately I seem to be going that way myself and I'm a lot younger. I've been a programmer for years and I simply can't do it anymore because of my memory. It must be genetic.
